As a Miami grad I hate Florida St but basically you just told 85 other players that all their hard work does not matter because of 1 injury. That is tough.

What the committee is saying is that there was nothing that Floride state could have done to get in. Even as a 13-0 conference champion.

There is ZERO chance if Michigan or Alabama lost their starting QB would be left out of any playoff and YOU KNOW THIS!

This what I don't understand: if everyone knew FSU was not a top 4 team post-Travis injury, why did the Committee consistently rank them top 4 weekly? FSU is not a different team than from 2 weeks ago. Yet, they were ranked then. So, what's changed in the last few weeks? Did FSU lose or something? No, what change is that UGA lost, and God forbid the SEC industrial complex be left out of the CFP.

So basically the committee is saying to teams, you can be a power 5, undefeated champion, and we will still pick a team from the SEC who has lost even if you beat some SEC teams along the way to becoming undefeated.

The ONLY team FSU lost to this season is the CFP Selection Committee! The CFP, Corrigan, Herbstreit and the ESPN analysts are saying FSU didn't earn a playoff spot since losing their QB1. Booger-mac is the only one who got it right. This is not about one person or what a committee of "experts" thinks. It's about coaches bringing together a group of young men, teaching them how to win as a team, being their best version on and off the field, and motivating them with a roadmap for success: win all your games, win the conference championship and earn a spot to play for the national title. Those are the "rules" and rules matter! But, just like lots of other things that folks are getting tired of - politics, greed, money, and cronyism destroyed college football. What the CFP did to these young players is unconscionable! What happens if a top four team's QB1 gets the flu and can't play January 1st - will the CFP replace them with FSU?

Lifelong Bama fan here. My heart hurts for Florida State. I love the Tide. I always will. But the Noles earned a spot.

Holding a team to 6 is more impressive than letting up 31. Winning by 10 with a backup is more impressive than winning by 3 with a heisman candidate. The committee let it come down to the final weekend and compared them head up, FSU clearly displayed they earned it.

What we have learned today is that college football playoffs are decided at a desk, not on the field. Performance on the field over a total season counts for nothing

The idea of Jordan Travis being the reason FSU is out is absurd. If he was the only missing piece, then it's not a stretch to think that Alabama would have been chosen over Florida State even with a healthy Travis. Jordan Travis is a convenient scapegoat for a confusing decision.

Can you imagine this happening in the NFL? Not allowing the Chiefs to enter the playoffs if they had a undefeated record because Mahomes was injured?

If FSU is a different team why rank them number 4 on Tuesday? How can you say they are a different team from the ACC conference champion when they beat an SEC and won the ACC championship as this very team being evaluated. Not an FSU fan, but the philosophy of this decision is beyond flawed because if this was Alabama this wouldn't be a discussion. An Alabama led team with Tyler Buchner would still get in and we saw what he looked like. If FSU ends up 14-0 this'll be a really tough thing to explain in posterity.

Sue Wolfe-SEC and BIG 10 are always expected to be in the CFP. Early in the season, some of the commentators were saying this very thing. So, any reason to get FSU, ACC, out, and a flawed Alabama in was what was going to happen. When I saw that Bama beat Georgia yesterday, I knew we were out, and we hadn't even played the game! It really wouldn't have mattered what the score was! Thank you, Booger, for trying to state our case. The question is, will anything really change in the new system, or will it be more of the same type of antics?? I guess we'll have to wait and see. Perhaps a 10-3 SEC team will leap frog a 13-0 ACC team?? I wouldn't be surprised! Go Noles!!

The problem no one talks about is that a committee should not be allowed to exist at all. Winning football games should not be subjective. The records should determine that... Not wealthy people that have a conflict of interest. Strength of schedules should be made equal to start the year. The committee created itself so that it could do exactly this... Manipulate and game the system for their own interests.

However, I think that this year, the SEC being bettter is a different story. Texas beat Alabama 34-24 in Tuscaloosa. Bama beat a 6-6 South Florida team 17-3. A USF team that had terrible defensive performances in a non power conference. Bama beat a 7-5 Texas A&M team 26-20, a team that gave up over 40 points to Miami and LSU and fired Jimbo Fisher. Bama beat a 4-8 Arkansas team 24-21. Arkansas lost to Missouri 48-14, Auburn 48-10, and two losing record teams BYU and Florida. Bama beat a 6-6 Auburn team 27-24 Fluke Miracle. An Auburn team that got blown out by LSU and lost to New Mexico State 31-10.

I've never understood why there were only 4 teams to begin with. This season was the perfect example of there being too many good teams to leave out and screw over.

TEAM is the operative word. FSU’S team won their conference with a 3rd string QB. The 2nd string QB got 58 points on the board AFTER the starter got injured in a previous game. It’s a team effort and that TEAM deserved the chance to be in the playoffs.

McFarland was spittin facts and ESPN is about to fire him because he pushed back on the money machine. ESPN and the CFP threw out a 13-0 season from FSU because Bama draws more eyeballs.

Bottom line there will always be at least one of the 5 major conference champion not invited to the party….

Last nights win was brilliant! That win was pretty and one of best coaching jobs I have ever seen in all my years. It is a team sport not one player, otherwise we need to pit each quarterback in a Dr Pepper shootout and call it good! Why should anyone else play the game.

Apparently the committee evaluated Florida State based on the lack of offense after the QB got hurt. Clearly, the committee failed to notice that Michigan, WITH the starting QB, amassed a whopping 213 yards total offense against Iowa, which was 5 yards less than the 218 yards Florida State had against Louisville.

Bottom line is it has never been about taking the “best” 4 teams. If that were true, GA would still be in, because they are still one of the top 4 teams this year, but they lost their conference, so they’re out, and that’s right. But taking a team that was undefeated and ranked 4th going into their championship and putting 2 one loss teams over them after they won their championship. It stinks.

We KNOW ESPN wanted Alabama in. There IS no excuse to go undefeated in a football season and not have a chance to play for the championship. Losing a QB, you mean like Ohio State did a few years back and won the 'ship with a third stringer? Oh okay.

What I thought was a slight possibility if they put GA six and Alabama five, and there is no SEC team in the playoffs. I am a GA fan and feel just as screwed as anyone. The fact we dropped from one to six over a 3-point loss to me is Ludacris.

I hear these talking heads with their probabilities, BUT football is a team sport, and the undefeated team earned the right to be in the playoffs.

They immediately misconstrued Booger's point. They just took over the conversation, and never gave him a chance to rebuttal. I've never watched a FSU game in my life, yet I'm absolutely pissed. "You're making it sound as if Alabama played nobody", obviously that isnt true, but Auburn surely made them look like a nobody. FSU won their last 2 games without Travis, yet Michigan won their last 3 games without a head coach. What does it prove? That a team can play without their most important leader, and still pull together to make it happen. Michigan literally plays every single player on the field most games, swapping out constantly, yet they still crush their opponents. If anything, FSU crushed North Alabama right after Jordan Travis went out, being down beforehand.

So the ranking system for playoffs is based on importance of your star roster and how good you think a team will do for entertainment and not on the team sport that it is and if a team facing what ever kind of adversity finds a way to keep winning, then maybe they can prove through the opportunity to play in the play off that they may be the strongest and best team. I get it if FSU lost after Travis’ injury, and you were comparing 12-1 teams, but they adapted and won with dominant defense instead. How you can knock that achievement is beyond logical. Highlighting 55 passing yards as a stat is just admitting you didn’t care for defensive performance.

If Alabama and Florida St. were reversed, Alabama would be in the playoffs. No matter what, they were going to place Alabama in the Playoffs. It was going to be hard to justify Alabama jumping over Texas for that 4th spot.
