I’m in my 4th year of ALS. Stuck to a wheelchair and a ventilator. I’ll probably die this next year. Every Friday morning I watch this video with a cup of tea. One of my most favorite things left in my life. If some miracle cure comes, I swear to Jesus I would be doing this exact same thing except with two dogs. Nevertheless, I can at least live vicariously through Shawn and Kali. Thank you sir for making my Friday’s.

I have two comments. First, I love how Cali expanded her search, going in larger circles, until she eventually found the orange toy. Very smart dog! Secondly, I know nothing about the equipment used to video content, but, I am always amazed by the quality of the videos. The scenery of course is always spectacular, but what I really love are the sounds that are recorded. Whether it is the sounds of wild life, or the running water of streams, or the crackling of the fire. I feel like I am standing right there for all of this. Great job, as usual, Shawn!

Congratulations on 25 years of wedded bliss. Hunny and I just celebrated 41 on August 2nd and I have no idea where the years went! I will tell you that it took my husband and I 14 years to remodel our retirement cottage here in Michigan on the Chippewa River and we had all the necessary power tools so I think you are doing remarkably well with your progress. To be fair to Hunny, he only had a day and a half each week to devote to the remodel because he was still working and only came home weekends. And of course we lost about 12 weeks due to him having to have double bypass surgery. So each day we have to share our lives together here in the cottage…we savor. I am always so happy with any amount of time you share with us because it can’t be easy to film and try to accomplish your goals on the new homestead. Here’s to an excellent time spent with your Hunny and make the most of each day together whether it’s at the cabin or traveling for life goes very fast. Hope Cali won’t miss you too much if she has to stay behind during your travels but I do know she will make the best of her situation because she is such a sweet girl…the highlight of your vlogs for me! A screened porch is a necessity in mosquito country, you can always sleep there if it gets to hot in the cabin.

I enjoy watching your videos, i'm originally from Northern Maine, ancestry from NOVA SCOCIA your personality and values remind me of the folks back home that is very heart warming to me especially because i'm out in California. In Maine there were several potato farmers but also being that the area has lots of woods men became very good with woodwork. The town also survived on the pulp mill that was a quarter of a mile from my home, my dad made several cedar chests for each his 11 children, he remodeled our home influencing 3 of my brothers to build there own homes bottom up I too have an affinity to nature and wood especially, when I paint I love to paint wood with interesting worm designs. Hello Mr Shawn, I am really enjoying watching you build. My dad and my grandpa did a lot of carpentry work and I remember as a little girl when they're Saw bound up on the wood, they would sprinkle it with kerosene; the sprinkler was a Coca-Cola bottle with kerosene in it and in the top of the bottle as a stopper they twisted in green pine needles, and then every now and again my dad would turn the bottle upside down and shake a few drops of kerosene on the saw and it cut a lot better through the greenwood. I just happened to think about that today as I saw you cutting the wood in the saw would hang up on you. Thank you for documenting your build.

Congrats on 25 years! This episode had a bit of everything eye candy...Cali, Food, Jigsaw porch fitting perfectly, a bit of Shawn cleaning up by the creek, and the beautiful surroundings, can't ask for more!

Already we can see the shade of green of the grass shifting to the yellow of late summer, added to by the fog filtered golden sun. Autumn color is just around the corner. Great as always, Shawn.
