The early Porsche 912 was a 4 cylinder,but they indeed should have made a 6 cylinder engine.

Sorry to nit pik, but the car is a 993 version of the 911 which has a flat 6, not flat 4. You’re building a flat 4 which, in Porsches, was found in the 912 and 914.

Les moteurs d’origines Porsche sont des 4 cylindres. C’est la base de cette construction à plat. Effectivement c’est plus d’actualité de nos jours mais ça reste un moteur avec la configuration d’origine.

Around 8:11 you see the toothed belt being put on the gears, the gears at the camshqfts and crankshaft have marks which have to be placed at certain positions to achieve the correct timing...

A 2 stroke with valves ? i don't think you've even seen the video. The only problem is that Porsche's engines are boxers and not flat 4. They sound more angry because it's an auto ignited nitro engine like a top fuel. And yes a 80cc 2 stroke will outperform a 14cc 4 stroke, no need to point it tho and if you don't want a "toy" don't buy a model engine

Pretty sure the pulleys and gears are marked And they have to be on a certain position for the right timing

this does look like a very beetle engine, but despite that, the quality of the parts is excellent. The black gloves are to cover his tattoo, as he might be an escaped prisoner, but that is just an assumption! It really does use a liquid fuel, but no exhaust smoke? Funny that the carbs have a backflow, maybe that's an illusion. Anyway a good video, expect he makes money from youtube !

That is a full scale model of the 914-4 engine. Probably has more power than the original.

14020 Black Forest Road. I literally built a plastic see through engine model and promptly forgot about it. If you all think I have access to these kinds of toys, guess again. $50,000 in debt that Navient will not dismiss, but the rest of you just get by without a problem. Remind me again how many of you actually got loans forgiven by "Joe" and his Crooks? :P

@@andrewmidgley296 Yes, the Porsche is a 6 cylinder boxer engine and the VW is a 4 cylinder boxer engine Boxerengine. i think Boxer is a better term then flat sinds an underfloor engine is flat to.

sadly , porsche never made an engine like this , the 4 cilinder flats are exactly like the beetle engines and after that the flat 6 came wich look like this engine but always had 6 cilinders

The Porsche 904 used a flat 4 but that’s the only mode I can think of that used a 4 cylinder

The beetle flat four was a Porsche construction. And if I am not wrong, the entire beetle was designed by Porsche. As a field vehicle for the german army in WW II, main reason why the engine was mounted in the rear

718 cayman has a flat 4 Can't think of them all, but there are actually quite a few Porsches with flat 4s. Including modern ones with DOHC
