In Todays video, I installed a 2qt Expansion Tank for the LT4 Supercharger, Replaced the Cumbersome GM Check Valve Fitting with a new LT4 Corvette ZO6 Fitting. The Reason for this is to be able to monitor the coolant flow in an expansion tank, and to make it easier for future heat exchanger upgrade.
Anything that increased the capacity of the cooling system aids in ultimately cooling the supercharger.
The tank I used is from a 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra SVT.
In The 2018-2020 racing season, the Camaro GT4.R, Built by PRATT&MILLER Dominated the @Pirelli World Challenge with innovative design within a production based car. I noticed that the front end modifications were subtle from the original production car due to the rules of the series. To offset the downforce provided by the fully adjustable carbon fiber rear wing, the front hood was modified slightly to allow the scoop to drop down an additional inch to reduce front end lift and to aid in engine cooling.
I Recently drove an 800 Mile trip to Road Atlanta and Back from the Shop in SC after making this modification and can attest that even in rain, there's no adverse effects, and the interesting aspect of this modification is that you can see leaves that approach the car on the road at highway speeds are pushed up over the car. In Traffic I can see significant differences in the heat waves coming out of the hood and lower manifold air temperatures. I am looking forward to my December track day at @RoadAtlantaLLC to see the differences.
