It's a good thing it got off it gives time to reflect you may of been tempted to kill it. When its a big fish but small for a halibut. Where there's 1 there's more a baited pirk with a herring flapper on a 10/0 hook is what they used on trips off of Malaig

Fit like? Brilliant but a sickener losing the hallibut. If you don't mind me asking where are you fishing out of there and what kayak are you using? I've been a sea angler since the late 70's, mostly cliff and shore fishing between Aberdeen and St Cyrus and have done quite a bit of boat stuff too. I have fancied a go at the kayak fishing for a few years now but never got round to getting one so any advice is appreciated. Cheers in advance.
