Even McHale and Kimmel were better overall. I wish she was as good as you seem to think she was. We desperately need that. And I hope it will be a woman, so that this kind of debate can be over. But it didn't happen this time. Not a single joke about the NSA, Snowden or anything slightly controversial. But I doubt people in charge would even allow that to get into the script again anyway. She would have to go off script and sneak that in from memory, which is one hell of a task. I don't blame her for not having the courage or confidence to do that. I wouldn't either. That's why Colbert was such a true hero. He managed to do what nobody dared or even thought possible at the time. It was historic.
