I have a great love of everything the Mackintoshes achieved. I did get a bit overwhelmed when I realised I was seeing their achievements first hand. I think CRM would have been well chuffed with the way his building has been preserved!

Wow! What an amazing house. I love it. I like how they are preserving it. It's neat how you can climb up and see it from so many different angles. Inside the house was so cool. I love the designs that are on everything! The carpet, the chairs, the windows. I bet you could go in there 20 times and see something new each time. Thank you for sharing this with us. This was so cool. Maybe one day I can visit this house. I would enjoy that. If not, that's okay. I got to see it through your eyes.

I could live in the house! Despite being over 100 years old, it's pretty much a straight move in, no work required, kinda place. And yes, I feel there is loads I didn't see!

I could hear by the emotion in your voice that words and pictures could not do this place justice. It almost looked like a doll house when you were walking around on the different levels. this place is absolutely amazing! Dare I say it reminded me of Frank Lloyd Wright interiors not exterior. Similar time period ,different country. Thank you for the tour you did it justice.

@@AScottishOdyssey I visited there years ago. 1989 is a bit modern for this channel. The designs are CRM with a modern execution, so I would really need to think about the best way to incorporate that into Exploring Scotland's History.

@@ExploringScotlandsHistory I hadn't realised that it was a late 20th Century build, until I visited there about four years ago.

It really shows off Mackintosh's unique style of design, it must have been very cutting edge at the time. The lights were gorgeous and I loved the bathroom.

I was in awe the whole time watching this. I loved your lantern. Gorgeous. I wonder if the house's neighbors put up a fuss when the box was built around the house to protect it. Thanks for this fascinating post.

I had an external visit some years ago along with some other locations including St Peters Seminary, a particularly interesting spot further up the road. Another great video.

The architecture of Hill House both inside and out is spectacular. St Peters is somewhere I haven't gone, not a great fan of brutalist architecture if I'm honest.

I couldn't get into House for an Art Lover last time either so it's on my list to do. But did manage the Lighthouse in Glasgow & MacIntosh House & Willow Tea Rooms 🥰 Now I'm getting Macintosh rose tattoos 😊

House for an Art Lover is a tad new for my liking, but I'd still visit to see the designs. I'm transfixed by them, I did some 'inspired' glass work for a lantern. ukposts.info/have/v-deo/fYOlqpd9r4iH0Wg.htmlsi=-XNOGELHPgrD3eWP
