My grandfather was also part Choctaw. He was also Seminole per what he would tell me. I'll never forget the day he sat me down on a trunk in the back room of his home. He pointed through the window behind us and told me a story of his ancestors. It was about a treasure of gold hidden in the woods and covered for safe keeping. Very few of the tribe were instructed to be vigilant and protect the hoard. When the family would be down on their luck and needed a little boost to get by, they could go to this hoard and recover only what was absolutely necessary to see them through their dilemma. My mother always talked about how poor they were. But somehow, at the start of every school year or Christmas, dad would go on a walk for a night, and when he got home, the next day they would all pile into the truck to go get shoes for each kid. I often wondered if he was one of the sentinels and if that treasure was how they got through their tough times. I have no idea where this could be other than his gesture out the window, and a part of me wants to search for it. But most of me just says "Let it be. It is where it is supposed to be and always to remember... What if it really is true." Grandpa has been gone 37 years, and none of my cousins have ever heard this story. Well, they don't admit to it anyhow. Maybe it is still out there.

I know a Native American pastor (full-blood Comanche) who lives in Talihina Oklahoma which is Choctaw Nation. His church is called War Cry Ministries. He told me nearly everyone in that town has either seen a Sasquatch or knows someone who has seen one. Sasquatch is just an accepted fact of life in that Kiamichi/Ouachita mountains area of Oklahoma. Oh, by the way, IMPORTANT NOTE HERE: Downtown Talihina is where you'll find the world-famous Hateful Hussy Café. Can't forget that.

Hadih 🤲 Chactaw nation and Buckeye Bigfoot. Sne kalyegh 🤲 for sharing, I enjoyed this story, many of our Indigenous communities have many stories and encounters of the protectors of the forest. As you, all know there are stories/ songs & dances/ art of these mystical beings. I was told my dad in our Wetsuwet'en territory, right on highway 16, close to our reserve--) he was walking home on the north side, and encountered bigfoot kneeling in a ditch. We do have a name for these mystical beings in our language, but I forgot. This is a way for non- Indigenous people to learn and hopefully, Reconcile with Indigenous communities. How are you the listeners and Buckeye Bigfoot going Reconcile with Indigenous people in your community? City of Vancouver, is attempting to Reconcile with the coast Salish communities by acknowledging the lands and including the nation's in festivities or naming streets... I am part Native American (on my mother's mother's side) and I believe it to be Choctaw but I'm not sure. I just know it starts with a C and it's not Cherokee. Or so I was told. You see my mother passed when I was born and her parents and siblings always had a hard time speaking about her. She was the middle child of 5 and everyone's favorite. (or so I was told) So anytime I tried getting information about her and our heritage the conversations never went very far. I was young when I started asking, around 6/7 and a couple of yrs later my grandmother had a massive stroke so that stopped all information that I might have gotten about that part of my heritage. But as I was writing this, it made me think that because I looked so much like my mother and my mother looked like her mother that That is the reason they could not have those conversations. I truly wish I knew more about my Native American bloodline. And before someone tries to tell me All the ways I can find out, just don't. I will Not send in my DNA to Any of those organizations. So unless you are Native American and live around the Tennessee area and know something about the Whiteheads (my grandmothers last name) and the Native American tribes in that region, it's just useless information. Thank you as always Nance for your wonderful stories and the way you read them. Much Love and Respect for You ❤❤ Oh and by the way, The thought of The People, Sasquatch, Saba, Bigfoot....whatever you wish to call them, I have never had a fear of them
