Definitely Carlin. Just an overall brilliant guy. And this is not meant to minimize Chapelle or Rock, who are smart, hilarious and insightful and make you think. The late Patrice O’Neal was also a really smart, hilarious and insightful guy, as is his old buddy Bill Burr.

They're all grandmasters of the art in their own individually distinctive styles. Including Carlin, Chappelle, Burr, Katt and the much underrated Sindbad. I love them all in one breath.
