Its true, once randy orton turned face he couldn't do the same shit that made him great as a heel(ferocity, cruelty, insulting, an emotionless demeanor), and fans lost interest. Vince is correct. Being a face is difficult. You got to be way over to survive as a face. As a heel, you can just do your cheap shots like using weapons, cursing and interacting with the fans, and people will love you for it, or hate you for it which is a win win.

One of my favorite Royal Rumble moments came from those two. It was the first Rumble after the split & while Edge & Rey were in the ring Christian comes to the ring with this shit eating grin. He tries convincing Edge they should jump Rey. Edge is like “Yea…ok.” So Christian attacks Rey but missed & he turns around & got speared.

It’s just a shame it had to happen during the shitty “Invasion” angle. Christian’s character literally had no motivation to jump to the Alliance. They should’ve just stuck with him having a blood feud with Edge over his jealousy of Edge winning the 2000 KotR.

But the thing was if nobody likes Vince then why did they love his sports entertainment????? Edge was always awesome. Christian, was along for the ride. Edge was the guy; that everyone banked on, becoming the breakout star. Even when he messed with Lita. Triple H wanted Edge fired. Vince understood; that Edge was money.
