I’m not surprised you were having some depression when you met Daniela. The reality is living alone on a sailboat visiting beautiful places alone is not a happy situation. Some single sailors even sell their boats because of loneliness. It’s great you pulled together enough energy to go into Colombia, and have an open heart to start a new relationship. Depression often robs the energy necessary to move forward. You’re an inspiration to those trying to keep the hope, and move forward to a better place. Thanks for keeping it real.

Sometimes I struggle to understand her words but that's not her fault, it's my weakness in listening. I turn up the volume and listen intently because I truly value what she has to say. I've been watching this channel for a while now, and before Daniela arrived on the scene I always wondered where you were going with this. She seems to have brought a sense of direction and purpose. Her English is improving at an astonishing rate, and with your own basic grip on Spanish, the translation app is no longer a communication necessity, I take it. You also bringing Dutch to the table adds to this little Tower of Babel on board of your floating home, and all in all Huub and Daniela (the channel) is becoming a somewhat unusual but rather unique member of the UKposts family. Cherish the girl who is making sense of your life and gives it purpose, Huub. And for the record, yes, I liked this conversation. For Dani, in the Philippines life is often "Mabuhay"....que sera type of thing...hence the day-to-day positivity...do Colombians have a "mabuhay" spoken and written of in your culture? Really great seeing you two together, sharing your life together. Having been through some failed relationships myself, I know what it feels like to find a partner to finally grow with. A partner makes everything easier, because they're participating, sharing the load, making you and everything better.
