I'm planning on building a small below grade earthbag on my humble property in the high AZ desert - and I'm a senior lady doing it alone! Despite the fact you showed your entire family and many friends helping on this much larger project - your specifics were so well detailed - I now have both the courage and confidence to build my own. 90% of people in industrial countries won't do. People in 'developing countries' work together on projects like this all the time. Much stronger sense of community.

Yadda yadda yadda nice family project yadda yadda yadda. I'm more impressed with how much better this is to watch than something on HDTV. It's just genuine and not over produced and unnecessary like literally anything on television. This is the future of entertainment.

To mom and dad. You my friends are truly blessed to have the children you have. It must be wonderful having kids that want to work with their parents not to mention the countless hours of time together. I hope your kids always are there to be the great kids they seem to be. Wow! Our family just watched this together, a year after the passing of our brother, who was also a builder. It was SO soothing and hopeful, plus it reminded us of how much fun we used to have, not driving each other crazy because we laughed and loved and each had our own precious niche. Your family showed you DO know what you have; before it's gone. Well done!

2019 and I just watch this and it felt like it was done today, even though it was posted 2017. Every time I watch this family working together it amuses me and I truly enjoy every minute of watching. you guys are very creative, each of you do your little magic and it just all work in like pieces of a puzzle. The love of both parent sets the foundation that benefits the sibling's relationship. The parents are still learning while training the kids to manage themselves which you can see helps with their self-esteem. I can't help but to love them again and again.

Teally enjoyed this show. Id like to have the lst room (studio) bed, bath and storage down stairs and kitchen and art studio upstairs. Like lots of windows. The build was so compelling to watch. It was the first time I ever spent 2 hours watching anything on UKposts and thought "Ahh...Is it over already?". You are truly blessed to have each other. Enjoy this time together. You will treasure the memories.

I don't know how I came upon this video but I'm glad that I did. The studio is a masterpiece of design and art. The family dynamic is unparalleled. It's no accident that all of the kids are well balanced and kind people, the fruit doesn't fall far from the tree. Viewing this video lifted my spirits and I feel better having viewed it.

I can't believe I just watched the whole 2 hours! BUT it was better than most movies in the theaters! SO much fun. You all work together just like I do with my brother or with my 3 sons. People are amazed when families get along so well, but I say that a family that works together (that means everyone does what he does best and one person doesn't control the others) respects and cares for each other more than when one just bosses the others around and you will work together well. A little guiding, allowing difference of opinions,, lots of conceding and compromising, lots of love and it is fun and fulfilling. Oh, and I can totally relate to always losing the tape measure. I think I now have about five of them now because I can't find one always seem to need another! I loved the video. You are such a great family.

Plastic roof, plastic floor-no. The mesquite wood could have been sliced & laminated into thicker hunks-then sculpted into a more pleasingly curvy natural design. As is, the mesquite is too scraggy looking. Other than that, the place is nice. Great cooperation amongst each other.

Lewis Clark how can you take something in its natural state and make it look more natural? I think to each's own. I love it!!! I also love the floor. Think about it, how comfortable would that foam be on your feet rather than a hard floor? As for the roof I also think it looks good too.

i'd love to do this. Get a big space and set up rooms and buildings. Maybe do some ground level to have a big patio area for a smooth clean work surface. That actually hides a collection of underground rooms. Then i could grow all my plants and set up my work stations and projects. I'd love to try the instructions i found for a water powered engine and make a pond if there's water and use it to farm algae to try making my own oil. To make fuel to power things. I love problem solving and doing things myself. Especially since i can't legally drive, nor live in the city cause all the chemical smells like their car exhausts and cigarettes make me have medical issue. It would be amazing to try my ideas and see what could be set up. Who knows maybe have underground paths to connect the buildings. To help keep the space open.

I'm so loving watching these videos, and learning about this wonderful building material and method. I hope that some day soon, there will be a way for our veterans, the disabled, homeless and elderly to have their own homes made this way. There is such a need for healthier, low-cost housing for these groups, as well as for the poor, of which there are so many since NAFTA and other terrible trade agreements sent millions of our jobs overseas. Ending up disabled at a young age means never being able to purchase a home, because SSI is too low even to get a Habitat for Humanity house, especially once someone disabled young has raised their children, and then has even less income. I just know that one day, someone who does this type of building will figure out a way to make this possible. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experiences and designs, I've so enjoyed this!

At the age of 50, my Dad Gave up full-time factory work at Maytag as well as his retirement pension and started his own business in concrete and construction. It was wonderful time for my family and it was many opportunities to learn. My father never used a calculator until the last three or four years of his life at the age of 71. He had an incredible mathematical mind and I can say that I was pleased to have inherited that from him, &I actually started architecture in college. But watching your show, I am in all of the mathematical equations you guys solve between you just in conversation and in your heads without any calculator that I can see and maybe you get out a piece of paper & scratch some figures, I don’t know; But watching all those Large trusses go up in such an unusual constructional formate, again, without anything but a level for the, “visually impaired”,.... again applauding your resourcefulness after your dog chewed up your other simple device for a level… And I want you guys work together to put up a beautiful architectural designed roof that is a geometric enigma too many, and yet, You put it up effortlessly and without any swearing or frustration. My bow down to your family come to your greatness! I speak to you from college education (multiple times), & from also being raised in a family with 12 children and only two parents who love each other very much and we also dug out the entire basement for compared you guys, a simple ranch home with six bedrooms and two bathrooms in a basement underneath that had a laundry room big enough for all of our clothes and a shelving storage area for the food we Put up every year to keep us and our extended families and guest who crossed our doorstep he has guest and people in need also. It was a joy to build our home together but I so wish my Mom and Dad Have the pleasure of seeing YOUR FAMILY WORK TOGETHER, CREATE TOGETHER, PROBLEM SOLVE, USE REPURPOSED MATERIALS (as we did too, but WAY BEYOND), COMMUNICATE CONSTANTLY NOT ONLY CHEERFULLY (which we were expected... but we had two parents who made the decisions and we followed their guidance… Where you have a different hierarchy of almost equal ideas an equal thoughts that are allowed when there’s a problem to be solved and there’s an equal respect especially as the kids are getting older that that didn’t really happen unless you were old enough to understand the dynamics of everything involved. I worked with my father a lot in concrete and construction until I got married and I loved working with him and he did listen to me but I was understood he was the boss and he was in charge and he was so so smart but it was a different time and he’s been gone for 25 years). He would be so impressed with you all as I Am!! I just can’t say enough about how much I respect and admire this entire family unit and the values that you not only have but what integrity you emote through the work you do, the Love you display to each other, and thank you for sharing your life with all of us. I am very moved by everyone of your UKposts‘s at night always talk a lot when I make comments and probably people think I’m nuts for that but I am also a creative artistic person end I just love all of you and I thank you for sharing your little ones they’re so cute in the last few videos that I seen and I miss my parents lot and watching your show reminds me of the fun we all had together. Keep doing what you’re doing and when I can, i’m going to send money to help you guys. I’m fighting cancer and heart disease but you deserve every penny I can give you because you’re doing such a good cause in your lives❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️

I haven't reached close to your level of working together, but a while ago I asked my two sons for help in putting in a stone pathway. They really wanted to do it on their own, so I just gave them some overall parameters and then I went and gardened elsewhere so they would have their space. I came back later and saw that it was laid out different then I would have yet it did what it was supposed to do (linking two elements) and I found that I really preferred their approach--much more whimsical then mine. So anyway, I am working towards your teamwork approach. In the meantime, it is so cool to get help from my sons with different projects. Thank you so much, you'all are such an inspiration. And your skill sets are phenomenal.

I love your videos. I normally sleep at 8, I went to bed after 11 watching your video. The first one I watched was Shea's room. I wish every family could learn from yours. You guys working together is AMAZING. We could accomplish so much with the kind of attitude. If I have a family, It will be definitely like yours. I definitely had to subscribe. I am learning a lot. This little family is touching and yes touched. Touching deep places of creativity, accomplishment, ingenuity, humor and potential. To see the results and be left with the dramatic touches by all members of the family is to be liberated of 100 years of human cinematic pretense and artifice. They haunted me. I wish all families had this. Good job All!
