💡The Near Field Communication (#NFC) is a technology invented almost 20 years ago which is becoming a game changer in everyday life.
📳NFC enables #contactless communication between two devices. Common use cases are contactless payments and controlled access. The advantages of this technology are manyfold and almost all the mobile devices provide NFC support therefore both iOS and Android have integrated NFC inside their #ecosystem increasing the possible use cases.
❌🖥️Leveraging the NFC from one side and the BYOD on the other side we came up with a #new feature named “contactless setup”. The idea is simple, instead of using a PC and setup a physical connection with the device let the installer use his/her own smartphone and use an app to prepare a #configuration and then transfer it via NFC. Thanks to the NFC we do not care if the device is switched on or if it is still packed.
💬We want to focus off the #talk on the technical aspects which are difficult to understand from the documentation and the challenges we faced. Furthermore, the interaction between the app and the different kind of NFC memories (MIFARE) is something every developer should know.
