That bird is imprinted, it would probably not happen if they just feed it and leave, but they lived together instead so it’s just normal the bird will never leave and also have little to to no chance in the wild.

I never got anyone’s views on this when there are birds who are at stores - at that point I have every right to give that bird a better life. Those birds are bread into the stores so going out into the wild - killed instantly. So I’ve adopted and rescued parakeets and let them free range in my house but they always go back to their cage. I have love birds and cocktails - I’ve got this same argument how I’m torturing them but again. People need to do research. If I let those babies again - they wouldn’t survive more than 5 or so hours as they’re not born in the wild at that point and all instinct is lost.

I had a budgie and he loved his cage, the door was always open, and he went in there often to play and feed, sleep,

We have two budgies but they are free to exit the cage and do whatever they want. They actually decide when they want to go back inside the cage to eat or sleep. Sometimes they are even bored to get out and move. I try to convince them to get out and they throw me a tantrum... Lmao i love them so much!!

I have a family of sparrows in my back garden, been there for over 20 years, they are family and location orientated. They fly into my house and sit right next to me. You can tell each one apart and they all have different personality's. The oldest one is 17 years old and sits everyday with my dog in the back garden, both drink out of the water bowl at same time. I feed them everyday so do not see me or my family as a threat. When we all sit out in the garden and have a meal the sparrows join us. They are all wild and live in a certain bush in my garden that they like. Must be about 20 of them altogether. One of them is so tame it lands on my shoulder if I go outside with food in my hand.

The sparrow on my hand was quite old when I met him. He continued to be wild and crazy enough he'd fly south for the winter and return in the spring. I think that because of the abundance of food where he lives in Switzerland, with the local shops throwing out loads of bread and way fewer gulls and pigeons he is still around these days. Hopefully.

I worry for wild babies that was taken under the wings of human beings, but I guess there's always a chance they prefer to stay with their caretakers for a long time.

Depending on the type of sparrow, they can be invasive. Sometimes the only choice is to keep them or kill them.

We don’t always have a wild animal rehabilitater to teach them how to be wild. There are many stories of animals who’ve been able to go wild that come to visit their human families. This seems perfect to me.

My little brother and I found a baby Cardinal at one point, and after waiting a while to see if there were even any Cardinals in the area, we decided to get her to safety. We kept her until her feathers grew out and she started trying to fly. Then we started letting her out, and after a couple times she decided she didnt want to come back in for the night. The next day we saw her with a bright red male cardinal, it was so awesome to see. This was at an apartment complex by the way, and about a week after releasing her my brother and I decided to head down to the pool. Well, after being there for about half an hour, we notice theres a lot of movement in a bush right next to where we're sitting. We go over to check it out and its her!!! She didnt even more at all when we came up, she even let us pick her up and perch her on our fingers! After catching up with her we put her back on the bush, and she flew off. That was the last time we ever saw her. I love animals so much.

Sparrow live among humans for a very long time, kind of like dogs, in Indian villages you can find sparrow nests in almost every house, they keep the insects out of the thatched roof, in return gets a safe place for nests and food

All my brothers and sisters were animals, dogs, donkey horses and cats. And when I meat a wild animal, I consider him/she like my cousin, the ones I love of course. But I have to admit I almost have the same feeling with some plants, to a certain degree, some trees in particular. I feel close to oaks :). But yes, as living "things" we are part of the same family "anyway". About the interspecies bound it's because it's almost deprived from human "biases" and "protocols", it's "pure". Whereas with humankind we tend to speculate too much on other persons will.
