exactly,im learning 3 engines from about 1 year and im not worried at having a game created,im a tattoist that simply likes to draw in paper,or digital or 3d,you can even do a 3d scene just to make a print screen,with the correct light,doing several wall papers from that scene in different angles,sky is the limit,imagination dont have limits,first learn the engines that you want,then you can do everything the right way,a game done in a hurry is a game with so many bugs,graphics errors,bad junction on meshes,i prefere to have months of learning and dont do a single full scene or level whatever,thinking about it,i often erase the things that i do,no,i dont even save it,just start another scene,just start another mesh,im not interested in having a my disk full of nonsense shit,lern,dont save it,lern the right way,like 2 walls that dont fit right together is horrible in a game,and a game with 100 error like this is not pretty to the eye neither to the mind,video speed building for me is nothing ,this is a great video,i will follow your videos,keep up the good work

Never dabbled with blender or rendering in any way, but the forest cabin came up in my recommendations and was amazing, then it brought me here. I am absolutely astounded - at times I had to play spot the difference to work out which was the real scene and which was rendered. Just incredible! My only point of criticism of the final animation coming from a theatre lighting background is that the actual fluorescent light wasn’t flickering, just the light radiating from it so it effectively looked like a flickering light that was on an obscured surface, but otherwise perfect!

Well, I've learned two things in the first four minutes. Specifically the Blam plug-in and the Spin tool! I've been making bent pipes with curves for years just to get smooth bends, this will save so much time!). I think this new format could be a great time saver! The tips are more prominent. How about a 20 minute CORE video that gets to all the important steps/points/tips, but then have BRANCH videos that explain bits in more detail for newer users which link back to the original video/timecode at the end. This way, I can blast through and get what I need from the core video, but I don't have to sit through all of the hand-holding sections/explanations that I'm familiar with, but it theres something new to me I can branch off and watch it. Or instead of branching do say a 1 hour tutorial and an accompanying 15 minute 'digest' version for pros. Or how about an index in the comments that lists tools/techniques used so you can jump to that timecode? I don't want to create more work for you, everything you do is excellent, keep up the good work!

I think this is a perfect format for tutorials. It isn't too short and you cover all the really important points. You can't teach Blender doing a project, there's just so much to learn. It is much better to offer the important tips, just like you did. Thank you for all the great info.

@MartinLindelof
@MartinLindelof 6 років тому
If it's not to much work, and you recorded most of the progress. Why not make two? An in-depth for beginners that might want to see the modelling and pick up stuff as they go. Then a condensed version like this one for intermediate users that might just want to pick up things like the Simplify trick. BTW, Focal length is in millimeters. It says that in the drop-down menu to the right and also it's corresponds to real world cameras on the lens (in millimeters). If you have a camera near by check the lens, it's often printed on it what focal length it is. It can say things like 1.7/50 then 50 is 50mm focal length. Just some side note info, but I am into analog cameras. There's a neat add-on for Blender called *Real Camera* where you get some familiar settings to an analog/digital real world camera.

I appreciate the suggestion, but as Clushyy said, these take forever to make. And I already struggle with regular uploading, so if I had to do both maybe you'd only see like 3 tutorials a year :P
@IloveSonicandShadow1
@IloveSonicandShadow1 6 років тому
In this case I suggest you stick with this short format, it's much better since most people, who watch videos like this, are doing so specifically for tips and tools and staff, not a full explanation on how to make a cylinder or something. And for complete beginners you can always say: "Hey, check out my Beginner Tutorial playlist!" (or whatever it's called).

I think this style of showing general workflow encourages more creativity and originality than a straight up "tutorial" does - it gives people tools they might not have known about but encourages them to find their own reference image and attempt their own scene. Well done!

I love everyone and anyone who puts out this kind of informative content, so thank you. As for the format, I think a great balance is to have both. You can have the entire, uncut, unsped up video available in all its multi-hour glory, then edit it down like you did with this one and release it as a separate video. You could title them similarly too. Like "How to _______, the long cut" and "How to _______, the short cut". Something like that.

Great video, love the simplicity and pacing of the tutorial. One question, we don't really have 'that guy' that does good, structured physics tutorials in Blender. I know you may be on more of the side of the visual aspect of tutorials, but I would love to see you teach the community about the fracture, molecular and weight brush modifiers/tools. I, and many others would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
