Again, if they bite you, whether they are sick or not, you are condemning them to death AND you are risking rabies exposure.

Yeah the male ones can get very aggressive and territorial towards dogs. They will often try to drown them underwater, that's why it was holding it like that. The news story of this incident said he had already tried submerging it, and was then locked in that death grip battle with the dog. Odds are the dog probably chased the kangaroo on land and it fled into the water to escape. One the dog followed it in, the kangaroo tried to drown it.
