Their questions are exhaustingly dense and lack a real effort to have meaningful and analytical dialogue. So many missed opportunities to expound on many points Kaluuya expressed. His perspective on the distinction of the racial climate in England and the dynamic of the land being theirs vs America’s stolen land and insecurities rooted in not owning the land was enough to prompt a deeper analysis of his observations but they missed his point altogether!

Totally respect how mature Daniel was in responding to certain things Angela and Charlamagne said and asked. Daniel didn't just laugh certain things off or didn't just give a neutral response or answer. When Angela was talking about the person Lakeith played in the movie. It's easy to just say you hated him and how he destroyed the BPP, but that's a very simplistic viewpoint. Daniel was able to expand and correct her on that point. The same thing with Charlamagne. How you gonna be interviewing someone about the BPP and then try to stir up negativity with another brother?

This interview is embarrassing for the Breakfast Club. It's okay to admit you weren't educated on the life and legacy of Fred Hampton, but at least try your best to prepare for the person you're about to interview. When discussing a movie about real-life events, there is no such thing as a spoiler. In fact, you should encourage people to read on the Black Panthers and Fred Hampton before watching a hollywood movie. Also, constantly referring to Hampton as a "character" was cringey. I wish they discussed more about the fact that Hampton was a proud socialist and how that contributed to him being a powerful leader. None of these so-called Black leaders today who sell their soul for a dollar should be referred to in the same sentence as Chairman Fred Hampton. He was assassinated by the state at 21. He's different.

@Josh Cooper This is definitely apparent in the interrogation scene of the film. Charlemagne gave an irresponsible outlook on LaKeith Stanfield's portrayal of "Judas." His response was just what Stanfield was fearful of - that people would think he actually was a Judas. "He played that character too well," was Charlemagne's remark, as though the character of Judas was embedded in Stanfield. Stanfield is a consummate actor that really delved into the character and consequently had to have therapy to come away from thoughts of being stigmatized. Exactly what Charlemagne did - type-casted him. IJS
