Players like Pepe could be great, but what they need is 35 Million move to Clubs like Bayern to become world class. A 80€ Million move to the Premier league to a chaos club like Arsenal would kill the career of most young players. In germany, Spain or italy, Young players are given time and trust. In England, if a player does not perform in his first week he already gets slandered by the media and rival fans. Just look at what you stupid english Football Fans did with sancho. The guy has the talent to be a Top 5 Player in the world one day, but united and the media already destroyed him

Humble beginnings - ✅, A feel good backstory - ✅ Doesn't carry much of a circus/entourage around him - ✅ A team player - ✅ Good work rate -✅ A very high potential ceiling - ✅ Reportedly robust in training - ✅ Willingness to learn & improve - ✅ These factors could be attributed to any of the Klopp era signings, regardless of their success rates, or prominence in the team and Nunez, ticks all these boxes neatly. The recruitment at Liverpool is not just limited to watching short skill/touch edit videos made on UKposts Instagram or tick tock but takes so many factors into consideration that most people these days barely notice but at the end of the day, does make a big difference. While, he would definitely take a while to adjust to the new league, higher intensity, new teammates, a new system, he has age on his side to improve himself further. There is very little chance that the move would have been sanctioned if they were not impressed by his performance on the pitch and attitude off the pitch. Edit - some slight edits to correct some typos

Few VIP infos from a Benfica suporter: 1. On Darwins first match for benfica, the first time he saw the stadium he said "coach, i dont want to ask for much, but please let me play even if just 2 minutes. I want to go greet the supporters". Thats the type of player you are getting, one that feels blessed, not arrogant. 2. On Darwins first match against porto, while Pepe had Darwin in his pocket people will say. It is true that he drove Pepe mad, dude kept trying to pick a fight the whole match while Darwin would just smile at him and treat him with respect, and as Pepe turns his back he already had sprinted 20m away. 3. Do NOT judge anything based on Darwins first season, the first half he was getting used to the league, the assists did prove he knew how to play, the lack of goals was only due to how the coach made him play. He was there to feed the scorer most often than not. The match against Rangers they switched that order up and he banged in a crucial hat trick. now the important: The second half he played with a knee injury, while he waited the end of the season for surgery, he didnt want to let the team down so kept playing, underperformed but you could tell for over 15 games something wasnt right. And yes, once the successeful surgery done "thx to the world class surgeons at the club", he instantly had a crazy impact when comming back, from the first game and till the last never letting go of the form he was at

Thanks for the info; that’s really interesting👌🏻 Klopp loves these sorts of personalities! A six year contract too so a huge commitment by Liverpool which is pretty rare… I was pretty worried by some Benfica supporters who seem to hate him or not rate him at all (saying he’s technically poor, etc) Quite curious; as a Benfica supporter (attempting biases aside), were you more impressed with Luís Díaz or Nunez from the 🇵🇹 league? In your opinion who would you say is the better talent/ more potential? Díaz has been excellent for LFC, very good technically but not proficient in front of goal yet (maybe because of nerves, different systems/ teammates and, I personally think, the higher standard of premier league goalkeeping🤷🏼‍♀️). I was pretty alarmed when we played Porto how bad their keeper was, so maybe that affects how goals replicate across leagues until the player sharpens his finishing... Nunez may not have that issue so much though, as I’ve rarely seen a player chip the ball past Alison like that 😂😭
@yurimpass
@yurimpass Рік тому
@@96s40 For me diaz is better technically, darwin is just more complete, strong a lot like rafael leão but more consistent and with 2 good feet and good long shots If i go with my Bias, we tend to always think the grass of the neighbor is greener. Luiz Diaz carried Porto on his back single handedly when the refries couldn't, Pt league players were terrified of him and often misplayed due to fear of going against him. This made it quite hard to judge but truth is that half season he played for porto this year literally won them the league. Although Diaz was a bit of a late bloomer, the first season was struggling for a place on the s11, the second he was brilliant at times but gone missing on the pitch most often, third was good, fourth was literally him owning the league by legal right. Goes without saying PT league matches are fully rigged so Porto players will always shine brighter since the moment they fall its a penalty while the same can't be said for other teams. As for Darwin, we had less time to see him than we had for Diaz, and Benfica supporters are the best and yet the roughest. The coach during 1 season and a half was a mental mess, the other during the last half was unexperienced. It started badly when we didnt qualify for the CL, but darwin barely had playtime, then it started to go well, peaked at Europa league matches, then Benfica started to not win all matches unlike they should as foresaid on the 11th amendment. This angered Benfica supporters who then took it to social media. Darwin and Everton had to deactivate social media for a while and that was basically the first half of the season benfica was just full of ups and downs, refs would team played some morbid matches now and then, refs would decide our defeat in others and Darwin was in the middle trying to adapt, then the injury came and his performances also dropped, 1 out of each 5 matches was well executed. We started to see him as a non crucial piece for the team and then by the end of the season he announced he was having the surgery. Took him long time to be back, so we basically forgot we had him in our team and went on playing a new season. He essentially missed the start of the season and yet had such high numbers. But as soon as he got back, from the very first match, he was a different beast and that just lasted till the end of the season. Unlike with Felix, I'm not worried for Darwin, he hasn't got any arrogance in him, he's mentally strong, his mindset can't be brought down easily, you wont see him crying in a corner if he gets told something he doesn't like. Just (and god forbid) keep his knee safe and let him do his thing u can put him on at the 85th minute, he will be happy to play and just full sprint till the match ends. Hardly anyone at benfica worked harder than him this year and that's something the fans can't contest. They called him clumsy , he went on to score bangers, called him distracted offside sometimes, now he gains 15meters in a half pitch run against a defender. Said he wasnt a good target man, he learned how to do some hold up play. Said he couldnt head the ball, he scored many headers this year. Dude actually takes criticism the right way, he will say ye ur kinda right i should work on that. And then he does, and he's smart with it. The ratio he improves at should eventually see him surpassing diaz and other players at liverpool should he stay healthy

@@yurimpass Excellent reply thanks👍🏻But bloody hell, you’ve got me worried about his knee😳😮‍💨 yeah I read somewhere he had his UCL surgery at 17, then later had a injury to the same knee, needing surgery but he had kept playing through until he couldn’t anymore (really hope that hasn’t done any long term damage😰). That’s not what you want to hear at all so it’s actually very impressive he is still so fast… and unless I’m wrong though, he hasn’t actually missed that many games in the past 2 seasons through injury🤷🏼‍♀️ Yeah makes sense now you’ve explained the context because I did wonder why many Benfica fans are so harsh with him considering he’s been there two seasons and one he was the league’s top scorer! Everyone saying he’s “bad technically” but he didn’t look that way against Liverpool to be honest 😂🤷🏼‍♀️ Liverpool normally do a huge amount of analysis and background checks/ references on players so I was kind of surprised they bought someone so young/ raw for that kind of fee when we are usually very tight with our spending, especially as he was hugely outperforming his XG this season. This is something Liverpool would usually approach with a lot of caution Read that his goal conversion rate is absolutely crazy (like 30%), higher than any of the best strikers in Europe, which was the part which kinda made me wonder if he’s a good finisher but has very inflated numbers because the goalkeepers in the league are just poor and palming the ball into their own net😂 Recently saw that the old President of Benfica (Luís Vieira? The one who was arrested for corruption and 💵 laundering I think) said he would never have let Nunez go for under €150M… 🤯So yeah I think a lot of outsiders don’t see what kind of madness goes on behind the scenes with coaches and board members etc, because that statement seemed a bit mental to everyone else lol
@yurimpass
@yurimpass Рік тому
@@96s40 Yeah vieira was a problem, those huge sales always came with drawbacks. did sell players for 125m, but 100 of those disappear within years and everyone wondered where the money at. There were also cases where he had the opportunity to sell players like carlos vinicius for 75M, then he didnt want coz he thought not enough €, so he waited, then covid came, and his form dropped, now we cant even get 10M for him. But, unlike Portos president who litterally got caught in match fixing phonecalls, there's no sporting physical evidence for vieira, just a couple e-mails that no one's really sure who wrote. For the knee, it is like new surgeons said, thats actually a lucky thing he ended up at benfica to have his surgery rather than any spanish club. The quality diff on our medical staff leaves any from la liga and league 1 on the dust. for the conversion rate, both benfica and darwin tend to create few but good opportunities. U will hardly ever see darwin shoting from outside the box, but when he does he likely scores. Same for headers, he might do 1 or 2 per match, but one of them puts the ball in. He often passes it or gets a corner if he?s not able to score, doesn't do a salah and try the impossible sometimes: For why Benfica fans dont rate him, ye we basically forgot he was part of the team since the bad form was followed by a surgery. This year is true he was a beast, but we lost everything. So normally certain fans will still say stuff. But he showed up in every big match, scored against everyone except porto coz they pause the frame when the ball is at 50cm of the feet of the passer and then say darwin is 2cm offside (happened 2ice not even joking). So technically he did score in all big matches

I don't believe for a second that Klopp accepted to pay this amount of money for just one good season and he probably scouted him for years before deciding to sign him. @@GREGGFOWL "Now for someone who has 1 really good season, being priced at 60 something million or 70 million isn't extremely expensive especially these days" Like I said, I don't think Klopp and Liverpool's board was "wooow we never heard about this Benfica player before but he just scored 6 goals in the Champions League and played really well against us. Let's prepare a 70M€ check and grab this kid". Top clubs simply don't do that when they decide to sign promising young players for massive fees (well, probably except PSG). Liverpool certainly had their eyes on him since he was in Uruguay, followed his development for years and decided to go for him after seeing what he can do at elite level. They were probably interested on Darwin long before and the last season was just a confirmation sign for Klopp. Scouting departments are expensive, even for top clubs, but at the same time they're considered essential (to the point even small clubs have theirs). If your only job is to scout future stars all around the world, you probably won't make your reports based on who's buzzing on CL or UKposts.

So he basically started to pass a lot, even when he was in a good position to score, and he ended up the season with an uncommon number of assists for a #9 (12 assists in 20/21 and most of them in the beginning of the season). He's an extremely talented player with a very rare skill set (physique, speed, instinct) but he needs to improve his mental strength to survive the Premier League. Klopp is a fantastic football coach, of course, but his philosophy on stuff outside of football is what sets him apart, and it is the character of a player that Klopp looks at first and foremost. It's why Klopp and Liverpool are a perfect match, and why I get teary-eyed whenever we sign players who fit our club (family) ethos, instead of hyped media names like other clubs. Won't happen. Klopp doesn't want wingers below 175cm who can't attack the ball with headers by cutting in. And his numbers last season were terrible compared to the previous season. Liverpool usually signs players whose numbers improved in the last 3 seasons.

Obviously his strength is his finishing which is complemented by his pace and his physicality. Good at running in behind for teams that leave space there, and good at attacking crosses when the through balls are not an option. There is plenty of room for improvement in his game but I do expect him to get a decent number of goals.

What I like about his goals are that he picks the shot to suit the situation rather than going for the glory goal. It could be a bobble or rasper he seems to make good decisions. Would be good to have a guy that can be a center forward too as needed. Most of TAAs crosses in last 6-10 months have not been won not alone end up in the net. 100s of crosses in CL final with zero chance of even getting one not alone scoring. This guy may mix that up a bit.

This is certainly reassuring as a Liverpool fan, I actually said two weeks ago that he looks nervous to me rather than poor, I grew out of judging players 5 games in years ago, we have to judge players at the end of their time rather than the beginning, some players come in and hit the ground running, some need time to adapt and some never do adapt, I’m Sick of the Twitter brigade writing everyone off less than 10 games in, children the lot of them.

Liverpool under Klopp have really been good at developing already excellent or even less excellent players. Player who´s top talent and wants to develop will do well at Anfield. As always, Klopp and the coaching staff have already had a plan how to include Nunez into the mix. Sometimes adaptation takes some time, which is most often due to what Liverpool want tactically, like with Fabinho, or sometimes it´s immediate like with Diaz. Klopp-era Liverpool just don´t buy players randomly. Of course sometimes things don´t work out, usually due to injuries. Say Ox, who was immense until THAT injury...

As a liverpool fan overall I'm excited to see a big money signing like Nunez. With departures in the forward department we needed new attackers. I feel like most of us were expecting a midfielder to be prioritised. Hendo, thiago and Millie are into their 30s, ox seems to be leaving, jones yet to convince klopp of regular minutes and keita can't stay fit to save his life. Either this or the winter window liverpool will sign a midfielder. Losing out to city and real would have really sparked liverpool to up their game and new signings is a good declaration

@jonb3150 Рік тому
I think it's no secret Liverpool's main target in midfield is Bellingham. It is said Dortmund are not willing to part with him in the same season as Haaland, understandably. Next summer there is no way we will be able to buy him since then he will be the biggest transfer target of the biggest clubs who will prices Liverpool out of any deal. I suggest we make Dortmund a good offer for Bellingham on 6 year contract with 1st year to be loaned back to Dortmund. Buy another midfielder(truly bizarre Liverpool didn't haul in Bissouma now that Tottenham just signed for only 25 million). Don't forget that Liverpool will be getting like 100 million pounds in player sales this season with Mane, Ox, Minamino, Neco and Nat Phillips almost all certainly leaving this summer, with even some others leaving. Next season will test the squad depth with the introduction of 5 subs. This will further strengthen City and Chelsea as they have pretty deep squads and deep pockets

I agree that diaz is a great dribbler and very technically sound. Don't think many in the prem can compete with him on that front. That said although dribbles are great at set up play they aren't the most important thing in football. Goals are. Literally. If nunez goes to Liverpool and shows the worst dribbling you could imagine but scores 30 goals across all comps. I'm sure klopp wouldn't give a damn about how pretty his dribbling is😅

Interesting video. I had never heard of the player before he signed for Liverpool. I will be rooting for his success! The only negative I see here is that there has been this growing tendency to splash money on a player that has only had one good season and more often then not they crumble under the pressure. I really hope this isn’t the case with Darwin. and most importantly forza Inter 🖤💙

I can definitely see him becoming a 20 league goals a season striker for us, but not in his first season. I'd say he'll get around 10-13 league goals, 5-7 UCL goals, and 3-5 domestic cup goals in his first season for us. That's around 18-25 goals across all comps that I'm predicting. I'm also predicting around 5-8 assists across all comps so overall I'm predicting around 23-33 goal contributions throughout next season. I don't think he'll start for us straightaway, but he'll get a reasonable amount of starts, mainly in the UCL.

he's not the finished article, so there's likely to be some gifs that make rival fans happy along the way, but with Klopp directing him, and the attack we have established for him to work with I'm not at all concerned, he'll be a star for us whether its this season or the next.

@FuzzyDlop
@FuzzyDlop Рік тому
Carvalho is not Minamino's replacement. One is a winger while Carvalho doesn't play on the wing, only behind the strikers. He doesn't have the speed to play as a winger, especially with how Liverpool plays. He's an advanced midfielder which is the one type of MF Liverpool was missing for their 3 man midfield.

You say to give him time, but everyone knows how fickle fans can be. Most high price tag players are expected to perform on day 1. In fact, I can’t recall too many high price tag players that actually successfully worked out due to the immense pressure the fans and media create for a player. I think he will settle in. But I hope the fans and media give him time and don’t hold his transfer fee over his head
