Thank you ! This is a very important podcast and the topic needs more than 6 min :) In France, "like" and "love" is the same word "aimer", so we make it clear if there is no love interest. The same for a date : the word "rendez-vous" can be used for a professional or personal meeting. And if your are in couple, you can say "bébé" to your partner (boy or girl) :)

Hm. I am not sure whether I'd agree that Polish women take flirting very seriously. I think they way we preceive flirting depends on a variety of things - our goals, our past experiences, language level if we are talking about flirting in English ect.

I think that depends on a situation. Let's say that you are having a conversation on the topic and then you want to say that you are into her, then I'd say, it'd be an okay thing to say :)

Here in US, babe really almost exclusively is used in romantic connotations. For instance, if say I meet a woman and she decides she is perhaps romantically interested in me, she may attempt to call me "babe" but pretend to use it casually. This is often an invitation to flirt back. Its used this way by both sexes but more often than not it isn't very successful and usually comes off as creepy or overfamiliar. Perhaps next episode: how/where to meet Polish girls? I did meet a woman from Kraków on Okcupid once but it did not end well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi Billy ! Two things then : a) covid makes it more challenging to meet anyone anywhere b) perhaps try being present on groups, e.g.facebook, with your interestests, or try their Polish equivalents ? Well, dating apps is also an option, but you gotta be patient ;) ps. So now i am very confused as to the use of "babe" :(
