Had a great time at three different locations. Met my goal of finding a silver half dollar and found my 50th silver coin for the year. Also found a mysterious belt buckle collection. How did it get there?

I not only enjoyed being on your treasure hunt -- I loved hearing the birds in the background! I grew up in a rural area as a child, but now live in a big city -- and being able to hear the birds in the back ground of your video was so enjoyable for me!! Now. I would say that just being able to listen to the birds sing -- is also a real treasure to find.

That is so cool that you notice the birds too.. I am glad you enjoyed the video.. Spring is around the corner and the birds down here are really vocal.. Thanks for watching.

it's an genuine vintage 1800's masonic templar "Knights of Pythias" belt buckle. U.R. stands for Uniform Rank. The Knights of Pythias was a secret society founded in 1864 by Justus H. Rathbone. Franklin D. Roosevelt, W. McKinley, W.G. Harding and Nelson Rockefeller were also Knights of Pythias. Great find. The other belt buckles are also nice :)

Lodge pins, belt buckles and other memorabilia from that organization is quite common and not expensive, so it should be genuine. An Ebay search on completed listings will help show that. BUT, I still think it is cool

Guy born in the 60's, got into the belt buckles in the 70's, met slightly younger girl in the 80's that listened to different music and dressed in LA Gear and Bongo brands, dumped his look and music and started wearing pink polo shirts and Reboks to impress her, married her, had a kid, divorced 7 years later and wished he still had his belt buckle collection to go with his worn out 501s, Stetson hat and Larry Mahan boots that he refused to part with...

Fascinating. I bought a 1940's house in Coconut Grove Florida from an estate in the 80's. The owners had an old sears shed in the corner built on a thick concrete slab. There was a ton of junk in the yard and I paid my wife's nephews a small sum to move stuff to the curb and salvage some concrete blocks in a neat pile next to the shed. I got word from a neighbor that one of the relatives of the previous owner had been behind the house poking around that concrete pile while I was away. So I did my own digging and found a large rectangular can had been encased into the slab at the side. Inside were 100 uncirculated 1921 morgan dollar coins and a trove of other silver coins.

I have a pig belt buckle in the closet that I bought in the 1970s, identical to yours. The P. I. G. stands for "patience, integrity, guts" . @pratyt50797 років тому
Thank you for sharing; very interesting. The collection was probably stored out in the shed. Then the shed fell down and the stuff was lost along with the ax etc. Your always seeing fallen in barns/garages and such and no one remembers what was in them unless its big.
@roncarlson7222Рік тому
Sounds most plausible. It doesn't appear to have been deliberately buried. I could be wrong, but I think that is the best explanation.
@Lonniebelle19797 років тому
the "Johnny walker red" and the gun were my favorites on this haul! i can't tell you how much fun it is to watch you find stuff! how much was your little hand held detector if you don't mind me asking? a couple years ago i got a cheap detector for my daughter but we've NEVER found anything even close to this! good luck on the next one!

I also use a metal detector ,I thought I found a ring once, the finger bone it was attached to freaked me out for a month,my friend who also uses a detector found a box about the size of a cigar box but about 5 inches high,sealed ,he could not open it,it had the guys name on it ,with two dates, I told him it was the guys ashes,he dropped the box and was so freaked out he actually got sick,I told him you dug him up by accident,say a prayer, and put him back in the same exact location,it wasn't easy for him, but he did,it took him over six months to start searching again,the weird thing is after I typed this in I look down the list of comments and a few people comment the same thing about a serial killers stash ,you better contact the police in your area and hope they don't implicate you in the murders because you knew where to dig. When I dug up finger bone,it dragged on for months,we did our research and found out that the man in the box was buried at that location as a request,for it was his favorite place to hunt and he felt at peace in that part of the woods.Your going to find all kinds of bizarre stuff under the ground ,the cool part is doing the research. GREAT video hope you find more stuff. HINT,always look near big trees the older the better people would use the ground as their bank,many hid their stash so the yanks wouldn't find it during the Civil war. FOLLOW all known trails through the woods from the south all the way to Gettysburg.Happy trails. Note: nail,boat anchor,axe head,obvious murder weapons,belt buckles themselves can be used as weapons,men could of been lynched with their own belts,how much active clan do you still have in your area? WHO owned the house and shed ?look at county records. BUT then again your mind can make up all kinds of fantastic stuff,and trick you,good luck.

The "square holed washer" is the backing to US Army collar brass. It would normally have "U.S." on the right side of collar, and Infantry Crossed rifles, Cavalry crossed swords, Communications crossed signal flags ect, on the left side of the collar.
@marcuswardle31805 років тому
Maybe the reason why you found them spread out is when the bulldozers were on site they demolished the shed and simply spread the contents into the ground as infill. Here in England when we do an archaeological dig we sometimes do a Field Walk. This is basically walking up and down fields looking for pieces of finds eg.pottery. These are mapped and the highest concentration gives an indication of where there maybe a building or something else further down.

Considered worthless trash in 1980s. Not everyone is an American Picker, burying treasures.
