Hi, my name is Rich Torrey, and I teach kids, teens, and adults an easy to follow, step-by-step process for drawing cartoon characters using the same simple process I’ve used for the past 30 years as a professional illustrator and cartoonist. It’s a process that will have you drawing even the most difficult characters easier and better than you ever thought possible.
If you’ve struggled with some of the other how-to-draw videos on the internet-it’s because they actually teach you how to draw backwards-starting with those final details.

My introduction to him was Astro Boy omega factor on the Gameboy Advance SP 😊 great times good music and a lot of back tracking didn’t finish it though but Astro was my first super hero as a kid next to Jimmy Neutron

Astro Boy definitely inspired Megaman, Gon Freecs from HunterxHunter, and Sonic The Hedgehog. And I’m sure many more to come. Thank you Astro Boy

And Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama was inspired by Astro Boy and Toriyama influenced One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda, Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto, Fairy Tail creator Hiro Mashima, Bleach creator Tite Kubo, My Hero Academia creator Kohei Horikoshi and Black Clover creator Yuki Tabata. So in a way Tezuka and Astro Boy also inspired all of those creators.

There's a reason he's credited as the godfather of anime. He created many more pieces not just Astro Boy. Try out Dororo which had to be cancelled before completion but got a fantastic retelling not even a decade ago.

Lol what? Astro boy ONLY inspired megaman. Not at all gon freeces from HxH NOR sonic the hedgehog, lol not even close as that’s not even close to being true at all as you JUST made that up here, that’s for sure!

Astro Boy used to come on at 5:00am when I was about 3-5 years old. I only got to watch it if I was super early waking up 😊❤️

Damnskippy Astroboy cartoon my all time to this day favorite cartoon. It was a countdown and a blast off .In the 1960's ,channel five"WNEW " new york television.

Kind, my behind. He abandoned his "family" to fly off the space. The orginal Astro Boy did NOT age well. I am glad I grew up watching the 2003 version. It did make an impact in animation history

If you're gonna dig deeper, check out Pluto by Naoki Urusawa, it is spectacle story, one of Astro Boy's greatest arc. Also, notice Tezuka, the creator, made a Star System, so Astro Boy's role isn't just Astro Boy! It's like MCU, but it's a same character acting in a different roles in the Tezuka's Star System.

@@LevelUpCartooning Yessss, Pluto (2003-2009) is the robot that was made to defeat strongest robots around the world, and Astro was on the hitlist for being strong. In Pluto, it focuses on Detective Geischt (on the hitlist too), and he occasionally meet Astro Boy who is the side character in Pluto. Astro's sister befriended with Pluto, not knowing that Pluto will kill Astro, but it makes Pluto has empathy thru out the story. Also, Astro saves injured Pluto in the earlier part of the story which is why he lives longer than other strongest robots because the truce. The ending still hits me because Pluto and Astro, the last strongest robots, didn't want to fight, but Astro is the last one standing anyway 😭😭. The work is inspired by 2 episodes in Astro Boy 1960 (ep. 116-117) or 1980 (ep. 24-25) into a worldbuilding story. I don't know which series Urusawa was inspired by, but it is so good that it is remade solely about it!!! There is Astro Boy ep. 17-18 in 2004. I know I said too little, but I think it is suffice.

controversial opinion but the 1963 version is the best. Billie Lou Watts just _is_ astro boy to me also the best themesong (I've seen all major adaptations except Go, Astro Boy, Go!)

Astro boy the robot boy with 100,000 horsepower, rocket flight, Digi beam, flashlight eyes, arm canons, speak over 60 languages, the ability to determine if someone is good or evil, And most importantly butt guns, fun fact Astro once flew around the entire earth in just 2 seconds because he was happy.

They announced a reboot in 2017 but im not sure if its the same one. I want a reboot, but not sure how I feel about Thomas Austruck making it.

@@KwarePlaysThe reboot announced in 2017 was kind of like an anime, but very simple style. Though they almost never gave out any info other than the trailer which shows nothing special.

You forgot to mention about his brother Jetter Mars or Jet Marte that was air back in 1977, and it was very popular. The kind of look alike a little bit except Jetter Mars has a cape.
