UPDATE - READ ME: So Discord is currently trying to patch this. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it will not. However. Here's a whole bunch of stuff you can do if it messes up. 1. YOU NEED TO HAVE SOMEONE IN THE VC WATCHING YOUR STREAM. I used an alt account because no friends 2. You can just wait an hour and try again. 3. Try running the command in the app. It's a bit of a pain. Be prepared to read. You need to enable devtools on your Discord app to open the console. There are two methods! METHOD 1: FAST VENCORD Download vencord from vencord.dev/ Install it Open discord (will automatically close if vencord was installed successfully) Go to settings > vencord > enable react developer tools Restart discord completely (close it using the task manager) You now should be able to press Control + Shift + i to open your discord console, then just follow the video from there. METHOD 2: MANUAL Press the windows key + r (Win + r), should open a "run" window Type in %appdata%\discord Look for the settings.json file, right click and open it in notepad (by clicking edit) At the top of the file, under the open curly brace ( { ) you need to add "DANGEROUS_ENABLE_DEVTOOLS_ONLY_ENABLE_IF_YOU_KNOW_WHAT_YOURE_DOING": true, So your file should be { "DANGEROUS_ENABLE_DEVTOOLS_ONLY_ENABLE_IF_YOU_KNOW_WHAT_YOURE_DOING": true, other crap inside the file } After that, save that bad boy. Open your task manager (control + shift + escape) and close discord. Open discord again, you should now be able to press Control + shift + I to open the console. From there, start streaming, enter in the fancy code and you're good!

Small clarification as to why it needs to be done in Browser: On Desktop will Discord force-close the client and do a token refresh whenever you open the dev console. This is primarely to prevent the usual account hijacking through pasting random code in your console, which is kinda nice. If you do want to use the desktop client, then you'd have to use a modded version where you can disable this feature.

Finally, I can pretend I did the glitch and totally didn't actually stream genshin to a friend

i like the quest feature, because if you dont care, you can turn it off AND if there is a game you play, you can get free stuff

Small note; People using AMD GPU might have a conflict using the hotkey, an amd screenshot option will show up instead of the console. To fix that go to your taskbar open the AMD adrenaline, go to settings, hotkeys, and turn off the option that says Use Hotkeys. Re enable it once you're done.

There was a general freak out when all these articles were saying "Discord is implementing ads!" but I think this is all around a good feature. It makes Discord more money, gives people who care in-game or potential discord rewards, and for those who don't care they can just completely turn it off. Features like this and the shop (which is arguably worse than this) are not *bad* features. I would take these two over actual ads any day.

Its fixed on the browser, but if you just press ctrl shift i on the app and do the same process, it will work (You do still have to type "allow pasting" (I found I had to type it after trying to paste, otherwise it didn't recognize it

also for those that cant connect to a vc and are stuck on awating endpoint. you can actually start a screenshare and still complete the quest via this method

i just renamed my other game's executable to GenshinImpact, and chucked the executable in a win32 folder. Worked like a charm with my friend being afk

protip: you cannot use it at browser anymore, so install vencord and active the "dev tools" plugin and press ctrl + shift + i in the desktop app and paste the code in the console, that worked to me at the first try and i think it would always work

for reference the 30 primogems the quest offered is the equivalent of 18.75% of ONE SINGULAR pull, you need on average 80 pulls to get the coveted 5 star characters. Literally no one is doing that quest except for the badge

You don't need another person or alt to do it, You can just put a discord bot into the voice channel, that's what I did with my discord bots I've created in the past. lol

and how do you undo this after you got the badge? everytime i stream or play a game it says i'm streaming or playing genshin even if i'm not

for those on mac struggling, i used vencord and enabled dev tools bla bla and then u just go to the top finder bar > view > developer > toggle developer tools (should have option+command+i) and was able to open console tab and followed the video from there :)

thing is i already got genshin downloaded, just didnt play for months since it is a grinding hell in order to progress the story

The file renaming seems a lot easier and more secure, than running a script. Even with the script, you still have to stream for those 15 minutes.

Used to play genshin impact on my phone and hit the f2p wall pretty quick. The deal was until it forces me to pay money and when it I needed money to progress I uninstalled it. The desktop straight up doesn’t link to the mobile.
