I don't remember the company involved, but there was a company that had some issue that affected millions of users and that company had forced arbitration policies. Their forced arbitration policies actually worked against them because with the company having to pay thousands of dollars per arbitration the class-action lawsuit would actually cost them much less (even if they'd lost in court) than they had to pay just to get the arbitration process started for each user, so the company ended up begging the users to allow a class-action lawsuit, because even with the arbitration company most likely siding with them they'd still have to pay thousands of dollars per user to the arbitration company for them to arbitrate each claim.

I'd tried to move to Arbitration with them for banning me with no given reason. Made over 100 requests and never heard back to a single one of them.

my old discord account was probably suspended this way, i was in a chinese server that pirated videos (since many movies cant be legally bought in china), and this was before this new limitation system, so when the server was banned my account also was perm banned with no option for appeal, which is honestly insane and way over blown imho

Even though this only applies to the US for Discord specifically, it can easily apply to other countries as well. I just looked at the terms for Unity3D and they have terms for every country ("Worldwide in all other countries or regions not listed above") (and Unreal has similar terms about opting out). Unity is putting more of it's services online so of course they wants to cover their butts, but this is a problem that's spreading to a lot of products so they can reduce the rights of their customers.
