In this episode I sell 3 custom PC's and discuss the experience selling 2 builds with comparable components, one black and one white. Are white themed PC's the new normal?

$42 to $60 is not up 150%, that's "only" 50%
@CasualTechReviewМісяць тому
Appreciate the feedback. Definitely misspoke, meant to say 150% of the cost last year, not up an additional 150%.
@tilapiadave3234Місяць тому
Yes indeed they do ,, seems to be a quite sudden preference for white.
@CasualTechReviewМісяць тому
Agreed. There is alot of components available in white now that make an all white build much easier.
@_Not_Retarded29 днів тому
Because it's been 30 years of almost none being on the market, and they'd even turn yellow back then. These new all-white builds look so much cleaner!

@bicycleman1857 you aren't wrong, a new look can be refreshing.

Just shift of preference in case style. I've built many pcs with different case colors over the years and white has started to grow on me for today choice
@CasualTechReview15 днів тому
Yeah I agree, I like how clean white builds look.
@introgaming663826 днів тому
preferred white now cause i'm getting older lol.
@CasualTechReview26 днів тому
Haha maybe that's the explanation, never thought of that before!

tough times at the moment for sure. here in the UK its hard to find used parts at a decent price. nice to see cable extensions, TYC doesn't use them and i always think his builds don't look as good as they could. the wife has clamped down on me filling the house with parts, but try to do a flip every few months. as soon as i see a bargain then i usually grab it and build around that! have you looked into getting pcs for parts/not working? ive had some luck doing that. usually an easy fix. keep up the good work!

hey man I'm trying to get into pc flipping, is it ok if you give me a few tips for selling a pc as i've just built a super clean white pc for £290 with a gtx 1060 white and a i7 7500 but i can't sell it for a good price?
@CasualTechReview29 днів тому
Appreciate that, I try to ensure my PCs look and perform excellent. Cable extensions cost about 20 bucks but I think they make an appreciable difference.

@uchunoko8454 I am going to do a video shortly that will cover some tips on getting started flipping PCs, so check that out when its uploaded. But one of the best pieces of advice I can give is spend some time looking at PCs in your area that have sold. Figure out the price range with the most sales (for me it's 550-650) and try to target that group of customers but delivering high performing and good looking machines.

@@uchunoko8454 I like to start the listing description with a summary of what the pc is good for, having tested performance numbers for popular games near the top is good, list of specs, letting people know they can message with questions and meet up preferences. If you can, just try to be super patient and not stress how long it takes to sell, my area is super slow for selling PC flips but the right buyer comes along eventually.

Just me but I've preferred black cases. Black cases can imo look better for a premium case but really cheap and crappy if it's a low tier case.
@CasualTechReview29 днів тому
Alot of people prefer black, but it does seem like newer PC buyers are into white. Depending on what you have going on in the room it's in, white can look better.
@_Not_Retarded29 днів тому
White looks good with monochrome lighting
@hauntedxd28 днів тому
damn, just like PC builder simulator 1/2 but infinitely more stressful lol
@CasualTechReview28 днів тому
Haha it's not too stressful, I enjoy the process.

The jokes practically write themselves...

Yeah they do. I don't know why. They're ugly as hell. Black and RGB looks so much better. AMD GPUs suck too, I'm not surprised he's having trouble selling that RX 6600.
@CasualTechReview29 днів тому
In fairness to him, he did just sell it and it was his first flip. Aesthetics comes down to personal preference and white is popular right now.
@oliverhoschi613529 днів тому
i would never buy a black pc. you can clean this shit things every day and on top of that they look awful. People who buy black pc´s must be cleaning fanatics. Not for me, never.
@CasualTechReview29 днів тому
Very valid point on the cleaning, black definitely shows the dust build up. Thanks for watching!
@_Not_Retarded29 днів тому
What are talking about, you choose black so you don't see the dirt, stains and dirt are much more visible on white. Ads for basically any fabric detergent confirm this.
@williamtopping29 днів тому
White/Black is the equivalent of HiFi black/silver Give it a few years, and you'll see it reversed. It's just a way for the companies to fleece the customers.
@CasualTechReview29 днів тому
Yeah we shall see, although I like having more options available. Thanks for watching!
@_Not_Retarded29 днів тому
I'm just waiting for the entire case to be a huge RGB 😅
