Or there is a situation where everything is fastened, and when you sit down, the belt cuts into your stomach, you feel very uncomfortable.
How much should I increase? You need to try it on yourself, how many centimeters the trousers do not fit together, and increase it by that much. I have this value of 8 cm, which means I need to add 4 cm on both sides, not forgetting about the allowances.
You will need an insert. If you choose the right fabric and do everything carefully, then such an alteration will look like additional decor.
You can take denim of the same color or, on the contrary, a different one, or use thick knitwear, I like the last option the most. Wedges can be placed along the side seams or in the front, where the pockets are.
But today the idea is different. The inserts will be under the pockets at the back.

1) I cut off the pockets, made cuts starting from the belt and ending with the corner of the pocket.
2) I spread the trousers by 4 cm at the cut point (at the waist), placed a sheet of paper and made a pattern.
3) I cut out wedges from another fabric, adding 1 cm to allowances on all sides.
4) I ripped the belt around the incision.
5) I sewed in wedges. To make it convenient, I first stitched one side of the triangle, then the other, the edges of the overcast. If there are errors in the corners, it’s okay, everything will be covered with a pocket later.
6) I also added 4 cm on the belt on the front side and on the back. I turned up the seam allowances at the edges and stitched them to the jeans.
7) I outlined the pockets on green fabric. You will get a pocket in a pocket, which has increased on three sides by 1.5 cm.
8) Double pocket.
Ready.
As a result, the jeans increased in waist by 8 cm, and also became larger in the hips.
