Usually jeans serve faithfully for more than one year. But the time comes when they need to be changed. Few people throw out old jeans; they are usually used for alterations. The jeans are durable, natural, and even in a worn state they look great. Torn fabric and holes are also not terrible; many models are sold already with holes on all sides and the price for these is higher than for whole ones.
The easiest alteration is shorts; I cut the legs to the desired length and in 5 minutes a new item is ready. But in fact, you can sew various exclusive things, from small wallets and handbags to large bedspreads and rugs.
From just men's jeans you can even make a sundress for sizes 44-46, and if you add another pair you will get a larger size.
Master Class:
1) I cut off the legs as long as possible. I cut them along the seam that expands, the one that remains straight in the middle.
2) Using this pattern, I cut out the front and back parts. For a larger size, insert additional jeans on the sides, you need to focus on the size of your hips.
3) I cut out fabric for pockets from the top and stitched it to the front, having first tried it on myself. For me they just covered the torn fabric.
4) The emblem (patch) was used. You can sew another pocket in this place.
5) I cut off the straps and the belt.
6) For the back part I prepared these flaps, 10 cm long, 4 cm wide, this will be a clasp. I stitched them below the armhole.
7) I serged all the edges.
8) I connected the front and back and sewed the side seams to the fastener. When the sundress turned out the valves, directed them to the front, and made loops on them.
9) I stitched the edges with a double finishing stitch.
10) Opposite the loops on the front half, I sewed buttons.
11) The jeans belt is just enough for the straps.
12) The sundress is ready.
13) If you don’t know, you won’t guess that this thing is made from ordinary jeans.
Before throwing away your old jeans, think twice and you'll definitely find a couple of interesting ideas for remodeling.
