I think a good D-List idea is the “sickest minivans ever” episode.

I did a report on the Bose suspension system for a final project when I was in college back in 2005 (for automotive technology). It was a freaking brilliant idea. It had the ability to push down and pull up the suspension using electromagnets. It could also regenerate electricity to power itself from the natural movement of the suspension while going over bumps and dips.

The 5th wheel idea is pretty awesome. Imagine doing doughnuts on the doughnut. *Eurobeat Intensifies*

Just a bit more bout the car record player you mentioned: The Highway Hi-FI system used a non-standard record type that played at 16+2⁄3 rpm rather the then standard 33 1/3 RPM of Long Play (LP) record of the day. This had the advantage of allowing for up to 45 min. of music per side on the Highway Hi-Fi discs (vs 20 min for standard 12" LP records, their are special LP formats for “Technologic” music like techno, dance, rap, electro, etc… & “Extreme” music like metal, hard techno, etc…, both of which are record with wider grooves and thus shorter play time per side). One downside of this special LP format was lower side quality though that likely wasn't as much of an issue in a noisy car as it would be with your Hi-FI home stereo system. Another major issue was the fact that Chrysler, due to the non-standard format of these records, had a special deal with Columbia Records to make records for the Highway Hi-Fi, which lead to a limited selection of records ever being available during it's lifespan (mostly pop standards music and such). There were two other attempts at car record players in the 60's. The second attempt was the RCA “Auto Victrola” which played a stack of up to 14 45 RPM "singles" that where played on a spindle the pointed towards under the record needle arm, unlike standard Changer record layers where the records are stacked on top of long spindle above the record player.). It allowed for up to around 40 min of continues playback of music (about the same as a record when paying both sides; standard LP's hold around 20 min per side.). It still skipped like the Highway Hi-Fi but would be fine when you were parked at Lover's Lane with your girlfriend/boyfriend. The last attempt at a built-in car record player and the most successful was the Phillips Mignon (sold under the Norelco brand in the U.S.). It used standard 45 rpm record, like RCA “Auto Victrola”, but could only play one at time via a slot-loading mechanism similarly to slot-loading CD/DVD-ROM drives (like those formally used on Apple Macs). This meant you had manually changed records over few minutes minutes . The Phillips Mignon lasted on the market for a decade until around 1970. It was the car record player of choice for such famous people as George Harrison and Mohamed Ali. There were some further attempts to sell record players for cars, all the where portable record player models you could place on your car seat which included anti-skip technology, though whether any of them worked better at preventing skipping then prior car record players, I don't known.

7:50 Back in the late 90s I almost had my hands on a 1951 Cadillac Fleetwood (some call it the limousine version) that had a massive cab area and a small rear trunk, it had a record player under the passenger seat... I wish I would have picked it up for a few hundred US, but being in my late teens, cash was tight and it needed a full top to bottom restore.

My uncle worked on a coffee/tea accessory for cars. You would fill a water tank and use the engine heat to heat up the water. On the car console you had a tap and buttons to select coffe , tea or hot water. He had a prototype in his land cruiser :)

Some of the things in this video come stock in some trucks, for example: the Scania R. Coffee maker above the dash on the roof, cabinets with microwaves and more. Also I'm pretty sure they either have electronic suspension for the seats or pneumatic suspension for the seat, cab and chassis. Also the 5th wheel idea is completely different in a truck.
