Austin Dial They are meant to represent what he would be like without his crown, just another cave dweller like the rest of us, also they serve to add to his paranoia by there always being something watching him waiting to take his crown. He threw himself into the void cause he didn’t care about the afterlife or making amends with the other kings he wronged he only cared about the crown and he had it so why stay in a place where someone might take it.
