La nouvelle Porsche 992 GT3 est un monstre d'efficacité misant sur une énorme dose d'appuis aéro. Elle affiche en revanche seulement un bonus de 5 chevaux pour un embonpoint de 20 kilos par rapport à sa devancière, la 991/2. Si le gain sur un tour de circuit est conséquent, qu'en est-il en ligne droite ? La réponse avec cette drag race réalisé à Lurcy-Lévis.

Probably those special cams Andreas Preuninger mentioned. It makes a bit less torque down low but supposedly makes an extra 10-20 more hp up top.

The 991.2 GT3 RS rear wing was in high downforce setting, which will add significant drag.

Yeah but no. Even with high downforce setting, the 991 GT3RS has 2 times less downforce than the 992 GT3RS

@@CLSTRN911 Yes, but the 992 has DRS. It's a drag race, so you want both cars to have minimal drag, therefore the 991.2 should be in normal downforce setting, while the 992 will engage DRS automatically during hard straight line acceleration.

@@CLSTRN911 It couldn't catch it, or rather it took 25 seconds to catch it/before the .2 RS driver slowed up ~ must have been close to a km.

La 992 GT3 RS est d'une beauté, c'est incroybale ce qu'ils arrivent à faire en terme de design. Je pensais la même chose de la 991 mais la 992 est plus jolie dans tous les domaines, ils sont bons pour faire toujours mieux sans rien changer à la forme générale depuis 20 ans.

Why would you want to see that? The GT3RS is not a drag car. Everyone knows the C8 Z06 would win in a straight line race....pair up the C8 Z06 against a 992 Turbo or Turbo S

Tout dépend de la forme du moteur dans ces cas là une ancienne gt3 peut être meilleure qu'une nouvelle et vise versa

You wanna go fast in a straight line? Save hundreds of thousands of dollars and buy a Tesla plaid or a Shelby or, if you want a Porsche, the turbo S. This kind of “race” is interesting but it’s putting two cars designed for the track into a 1/4 mile race. I own a gt3rs -if off the line time mattered I would be pretty disappointed for the money I spent !

Une fois de plus une vidéo qui veut rien dire. Pneus, aileron, patinage, température des gommes etc etc etc Tant de paramètres dont on ne sait rien. Sans oublier que le mec de la 991.2 lache progressivement AVANT la 992. Bref du putaclic, rien de plus. 👋
