Loving the redtube marco makes life so easy

I've been using a similar, but more "factory-made"-looking macropads MAX Falcon-8 and MAX Falcon-20 since 2018 at work and can't imagine a day without it. I have both the compact 4x2-buttons version and numpad-style with 20 buttons. It comes with RGB and you can choose between 10 MX-switch types. It comes either assembled or as a kit. The pads don't require to install any software to run and store all the macros inside the pad. They have also very light and simple to use software to record macros, with practically no character limit per key and 5 color-coded layers. The only downside is that macros are not editable once you recorded them, you can only change delays between the simulated inputs, so if you make a typo you have to start again. Would be cool to have a screen on it like on the Duckypad, but Max Falcon don't look as fragile and is cheaper, however, I'm not sure if it will provide some of the advanced features of the Duckypad, so hope it will succeed commercially :)

Wow. This does look interesting. There's definitely a market for programmable keyboards. I know Koolertron make quite a few models. Also, probably as mentioned elsewhere, it would be great to get one of those old IBM Model F 4704 50 Key Keypads.

I have BOX Navies in my 9key macro pad and it's the most satisfying CRUNCH adjusting audio on that thing.

Just got mine yesterday. FYI, you don't need to disconnect the pad when pull out the micro SD card to reprogram. The pad would just disable itself when there's no SD card or valid profile in the card slot.

Nice pad specially that little screen. But he should have used QMK+VIA. With VIA you could have on the fly Macro. But I like the effort that guy put in his on software though.

Interesting. This is like a nicer feeling Stream Deck, without the interactive screen buttons.

How is the unplug/out/program/in/plug more user friendly than qmk?

I mapped my game controller to keyboard keys with joy2key. It word quite well.

This would be epic if it could be configured for use in a car over "CAN-Bus" As a key pad for a race car.

Something like this would be so comfortable for fps gaming, only needs a small spacebar at the bottom and shift on the left side, if only I could make something like that myself

Have you ever played around with a Genovation pad? Check out their website as they have a metric shit ton of different models with key sizes. Even their program is hefty, full macro and script support. Plus they can even do labels (printed or led). I picked one up off e-bay for $30 (US) and it has 24 mech keys, with LED's, and modifier to convert to 48. I have to use one of those gaming pads that looks like a quarter sized keyboard because shoulder injuries from sports. If i try to use a normal keyboard for gaming, i'll be chewing my pain killers like pez.

3:40 I kind of have to disagree on your statement regarding QMK's ease of use for recent years Chyros. If we're talking about QMK approx. 5 years ago then yes I'll totally 100% agree QMK wasn't straightforward to use at all back then, but now using QMK is a lot easier & straightforward imo especially due to its easy-to-use online QMK Configurator (config.qmk.fm/#/ ), or (if the board supports it) the VIA Configurator (caniusevia.com/ ). The QMK Config at least would imo work better than how the Duckypad is configured in your video, since you can create the macro/configuration you want, compile & download the hex file, and then flash onto the keyboard using the QMK Toolbox on Windows (which are just a few button clicks). VIA is even better as it allows you assigning of keymap/macros live with the keyboard directly, so you can just connect the board, test out some new Macros/KeyMap in VIA, and then close VIA/detach the board once you're happy with the config that you have. Granted I somewhat agree that On-the-fly Macro recording without requiring any software would still be the best, but my main point is that QMK in it's current state is imo very user-friendly & pretty straightforward because if these tools. QMK is a bit complicated, but VIA is much easier to use. Great program.

0:35 when you consider that a large amount of Group Buys for custom keyboards are run by a single person (and often more complex), this is not that impressive. E.g. Jae from ProtoTypist is a UK Vendor for keycaps and more, and he also runs keyboard group buys on his own (with way more parts than this)
