Protip: There are F1-F20 keys. Most programs don't use the ones above F12, some do. Be careful! You can set shortcuts to the unused F keys.

could I buy a cheap numberpad and do that? reassign the keys to FN keys and do the macros that I want?
@madstork91
@madstork91 5 місяців тому
@@Lorennaa In theory? Maybe? It would depend on if the number pad would let it be recognized as different, and if they keys were separated out on input. There may be software that would let you modify the input per key on a usb device as well... interesting thought.
@StashX
@StashX 5 місяців тому
@@Lorennaa yes. On Mac you can use Karabiner-Elements to remap the numkeys on specific keyboard, without affecting numpad in other regular ones. On Windows I don't know if you can specify the keyboard to remap because I haven't had the need to. If you don't care to have a working numpad (across all the connected keyboards), then you can do the remap either modifying the registry directly (there's an easy and safe tool to do the changes called "SharpKeys") or using AutoHotkey which will allow you to do more complex automations than the simple remap.

Tala, congratulations on your first UKposts build tutorial! 👏👏👏 You presented it so nicely, and your video looks really polished and professional. Great project, too, with an interesting mix of hardware assembly and software configuration. Hmm, if you bought your soldering iron at Canadian Tire, you must be studying in Canada! 😍🇨🇦🏒🥌 I did my MMath and PhD at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. As a transplanted American, I was shocked when I learned that Canadian Tire sells more than just tires! 😆 Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoy your content. Keep up the great work, Tala! 👍👍

@@talaexe Tala, do you have a favorite area of computer science? If you like artificial intelligence, you can do machine learning on tiny devices like Raspberry Pi computers and microcontrollers. O'Reilly has a whole book about it called "TinyML". For example, the Pico/RP2040 microcontroller is actually powerful enough to run ML models that recognize faces, gestures, and voice commands! 👧👋🗣️

Could you set it to macros? SO instead of using those function keys maybe have the input be multipe inputs? This way you avoid accidentally hitting those keys while you type?

problem with these is the programming. I'm building my own but with an ESP32 over bluetooth and a macro creator and profile editor hosted on a webserver on the ESP32.
