nice to meet you. I am Japanese. (using google translate) I was just doing the 1 tile challenge too. Vanilla Two Rivers. With a population of 50,000 and a traffic volume of 85%, we challenged ourselves with only two-lane roads and highway ramps. The population has safely reached 55,000 and the average traffic volume is around 90%. The first thing to do is to measure the corners of the map, which is the same as me, and I enjoyed watching it.

I want to offer you a challenge for the maximum number of people in one square without mods in Cities skylines. Apparently, at the moment the blogger has a record: "Peptar" with approximately 74k population, but he still has part of the river on the map, "unique buildings" are not used (I can be mistaken in the name, I mean buildings from the list in which there is a space elevator and something similar), he didn’t even remove the interchanges underground, not to mention the crossroads of the highways, and didn’t narrow all the roads, and I’m sure that you will probably still have a bunch of people to raise far beyond 100,000, and show all your skills! I would love to see what happens with your serious approach

Designing a city with just one tile with a river dividing said tile, is pretty much the backstory of Washington, DC! The area given to District of Columbia was originally a diamond ceded by the states of Maryland and Virginia in accordance with the Residence Act adopted in July 1790. DC was designed by Parisian Pierre Charles L'Enfant, and was based on European models translated to American ideals. The entire city was built around the idea that every citizen was equally important, with a street grid system and wide diagonal avenues named after states radiating from the Capitol! The National Mall was designed as open to all comers, which would have been unheard of in his native France. L'Enfant placed Congress on a high point with a commanding view of the Potomac rather than a leader's palace on a hill like in Europe. However, the Virginian side returned to Virginia in 1847. This is because of several factors. Alexandria went into economic decline because of neglect by Congress as members from other parts of Virginia fought to prohibit funding for Alexandria projects in favor of projects in their home districts. Legislation required that no Federal buildings be built on the formerly Virginia side of the District (part of the compromise that created the Capitol), so it gained nothing in government workers or buildings. But the main factor was legislation was in the works to outlaw slave trading within DC, and slave auctions were some of Alexandria’s biggest businesses.

The flow of water increased because of Bernoulli's principle, you reduced the width of the river by adding those barriers on the ends! And the hole in the building is not just architecture, it's useful for dealing with wind and important to feng shui! Feng shui is an ancient Chinese traditional practice which claims to use energy forces to harmonize individuals with their surrounding environment. The term feng shui means, literally, "wind-water". From ancient times, landscapes and bodies of water were thought to direct the flow of the universal Qi through places and structures. In Hong Kong, feng shui helped influence the skyline. The skyline is pierced by gaping voids called dragon gates. Such dragon gates are designed to let these mythical flying beasts pass from their hilltop homes down to the water each day and then return again each night. The sharp-edged Bank of China Tower by IM Pei was broadly criticized for not using feng shui as feng shui experts saw the angular shape as “cutting” the good fortune of adjacent buildings. The skyscraper’s poor feng shui has since been blamed for adjacent companies going out of business and other mishaps. To combat this bad luck, the neighboring HSBC Building built cannon-like maintenance cranes as negative energy deflectors.

what I always do when making my city outline is use dirt roads and upgrade later. the game won't let you have access to dirt roads until you put one of the two lane roads down first so I just connect the highway to itself to get access. way cheaper.

To avoid the bridging thing on uneven ground you need to click on the second button (arrow down) under Modes in the Elevation Step window (top right of your screen in this video). This forces roads to stick to the ground.

I've seen this game as an option on my console and wasn't sure I would like it. But bc of your videos, I might try the game.

You could've made a second episode optimizing the traffic of the city, with public transportation, metros, and shifting the suburban and industrial parts to offices and high density. Completing a fully service based operating city.

I really enjoy this game. Sim city was my favorite back in the day. Only problem. Now is, I simply don't have the patience to play it. Granted I play on Xbox. Maybe if I got it for my PC I'd enjoy it again. Idk. I sit down and start to play, get my first makings of a city in place, and before I even reach the first milestone I'm over it and ready to get back to elden ring or dying light. Something with some action. Idk. But I could sit and watch Matt play for hours. In fact I have/am doing that right now.

Glad you went legit. Cheats are just too boring to watch, even as desperate as I am for something to watch.. Seriously I would have had to watch an Architect.
