Well, except he was kinda right. Conor could have tried to get up which would have reduced the damage he was taking but instead he decided to stay down and take the shots, many of which weren't landing cleanly. Then, Khabib actually got tired for the first and only time in his career. I guess people don't see this because they hate Conor I guess? Or maybe it's because they don't know anything about MMA? Probably a combination of both.

Khabib's defense against Poirier's guillotine shows that the entire UFC had no idea how GOOD Khabib is when he's on the defense. Khabib might or might not be the greatest fighter of all time, everybody's opinions are different. But there is no denying that he is incredibly dominant, skillful, and powerful. IIRC nobody even made him bleed. His offense is absolutely terrifying, taking the best grapplers and abusing them until they're so tired they barely have the energy to breathe. And though rarely tested, his ability to absorb strikes, and his obvious skill at escaping submissions, is testament to how well-rounded he is. Throw in the fact that for the most part he's respectful, honourable and avoids excess damage, and not only is he one hell of a fighter, he seems like a damn good dude in general. @@RoflJoker1994 Khabib was more of a welterweight when he was fighting but his father told him to fight at 155. The only time he would've moved up to 170 was when he was talking about fighting GSP

I agree wholeheartedly. He didn't give the sport enough time to adapt to his approach. He ran away before he could be properly tested which rest assured, he would have been. He was absolutely amazing but I'm terribly unimpressed with his tenure. His recent "prediction" for Islam's future is a projection of his own cowardice in this regard.

No defeats, no lost rounds, no bleed in all his fights ( last 3 defence against McGregor, Poirier and JustinG ) in Lightweight. Can totally destroy you if you are disrespectfull ( like Connor ) or putting you to sleep without heavy violence ( like Justin ). Noone seriously made him a lot of damage so noone saw how extremely good Is on defence. He has a cardio/stamina that WOW to do all this. Goat for sure in his class and maybe others..

The Khabib v McGregor fight is the epitome of someone doing this for clout versus doing it as a profession. I can't speak much on how to fight since I've never had to trade hands with someone. But I do know the drive Khabib has from being very athletic and competitive as a kid. I was never able to take it as seriously as he does. But I can relate on a personal level

Conor wanted to tap Khabib's hand in the beginning of round 3 but Khabib wasn't having it and rightly so. Khabib was operating from his own frame which Conor had to step into - and that just shows how dominant Khabib was.

Khabib is an inspiration for so many people around the world. His discipline, hardwork, character and willpower is clearly visible in all his fights. I wish he fought many more times after this. But I feel unfortunate that I couldn't watch enough of this man. I genuinely miss this guy in the octagon. I hope he stays just as focussed and committed to whatever he does in life beyond his fighting career. May God bless him.

Totally agree. He was a really good fighter. I'll give him that. Had he defended his belt a couple more times, he could have been in the likes of silva, randy c, gsp, etc. But not in goat status. Thing is though, he was ok with that. He just probably just wanted to retire before someone catches up on his technique.
