I think the reason Apollo never appeared or died in this series is because if he was killed, his death would probably get rid of all music, and we can’t have a god of war game without epic music.

Imagine if zeus's bodyguards were actually there with Zeus watching kratos fight poseidon and when they saw kratos brutalizing poseidon they got so scared that they left immediately and then zeus was just standing there alone and disappointed

I like to imagine that the reason why the other Olympians were not killed was because they had a plan and its finally come to fruition. Maybe Hestia, Aphrodite, Demeter, Apollo, Artemis and Dionysus (and the other minor gods whom Kratos didn't kill) purposefully stayed out of Kratos' way in order for Kratos to kill Zeus and the other Olympians so that the ones who remained, would rebuild Greece with themselves becoming the new rulers. Maybe Hestia, Demeter, Apollo, Artemis, Aphrodite and Dionysus would be the new rulers of Olympus with Hestia being Queen of the gods (Because she's goddess of the Hearth, Homes, Families and the State).

Ironically, Hercules trying to take Kratos' title of god of War is kinda accurate since in the myth Heracles "took" Cratus' title as the god of Strenght

The fact that -Hercules- Heracles is taking orders from Hera, of all people, is so hilarious considering that Hera kept screwing his life over and over again.

I think the reason we don't see a lot of the gods like Apollo is because they were smart and didn't get in the way. Specifically I could see it where the gods who hated Zeus more than anything just sat back and let Kratos do the work for them. Apollo in particular could have secretly been reviving Kratos with the death cure his son made just to get rid of Zeus as for why Apollo would do this well don't forget Zeus killed Apollo's son.

I think that "wraith form" from Zeus is supposed to be the hate that consumed him. It's the reason why Kratos's hope is what kills him for good. Edit: I have been corrected. It is fear that consumed Zeus, not hate.

I have a few headcanons to explain SOME things Hades' appearance i like to think is cause ruling the underworld took its toll on him a ton. At first he looked like his brothers but years of isolation and being around the decay and deceased affected his body, appearance and mind over time Some gods being absent i chalk up to them fearing for their lives and dipping, and some not wanting to choose sides. Artemis, Apollo and Dionysys i can see straight up leaving to avoid the smoke The floods after poseidon i can see still happening. After all hes the one in charge. Its like if your manager quits halfway through shift and only the cashiers are in the building now. Its gonna be a disaster Hercules/Heracles never fully completed his labors. He says this flat out saying he was stuck cleaning the Augean stables and finding the apples while Kratos was crowned the god of war. So in this series, Heracles completed some of his labors only AFTER kratos destroyed ares. And whats even worse is he couldnt complete some of his them due to Kratos interfering. His whole glory was stolen and EVEN worse, he never got his rewards either since kratos waged war on Olympus. Heracles had ALL that hard work go to waste. He had every right to be jealous and angry which is probably why he worked with hera. He hated Kratos more than her for stealing his tasks, preventing his absolution, and making him a laughingstock

Some behind the scenes infor: Addressing the Golden Ichor blood. They originally DID bleed that in this game with the notable moment being the decapitation of Helios where it was to be gold ichor and a burst of uncontrolled sunlight erupting from his neck. The only remnant of this is how his eyes and mouth are "bleeding" sunlight. However when they did that, they found it to really kinda not read well as to what was happening. The decision to dial it back to "just red blood" was for more of a "my ook ook monkey brain understands this" for the common audience. This idea was still used when Kratos pins Zeus to the heart of Gaia.

That last part where Zues becomes the ghost form is Zues as the literal embodiment of fear since he absorbed fear when Kratos opened the box. That's why the fear of Kratos killing him consumed him.

I find it funny how both Kratos and Hercules used a gold “hide” as protection (nemean lion skin and golden fleece) it’s also cool how Kratos even seems to respect Hercules, not wanting to fight him

In the series, it's kinda implied that the Blade of Olympus doesn't really kill gods per se, it just turns them into that astral form, like Ghost Athena and Wraith Zeus. While they do not have a body anymore and were, indeed, killed, the fact they come back as ghosts of a sort kinda implied that. Awesome video though, I really love your content!

Of all the gods Kratos encountered in God of War 3, Aphrodite was apparently the only one who was left alive. Pretty fitting for her to be the last surviving god, since she's the goddess of love, and as they say, "love conquers all".😘

"Family" or "fellow gods" sound wrong too. As a turn of phrase for a group going to battle the word "brothers" strikes a good balance of relation, while still being dignified and isn't overly formal. In media (and reality?) It is often used for friends or even just other people in a unit/group/army.

On the topic of Zeus allowing the box to be opened in God of War 1, I think it could come down to two things. One, he didn't know Kratos was after the box until it was too late, or he considered it a justified last means and didn't realize the evils would corrupt him and the Olympians. Since it was Fear that took hold of Zeus, his fury at Hephaestus may have just been the intensified irrationality Zeus had harbored within himself prior, the same that led him to ordering Athena and Ares to kidnap Deimos. It's definitely a shaky explanation, but we are talking about a series that was taking liberties with the mythology since day 1.

Fun fact, in the Spanish dub Heracles name is not Hercules, is actually Heracles. Looks like the Spanish dub team had a Greek mythology fan somewhere 😆

You know what this makes me curious about? What happened to the other Olympians that Kratos didn’t slay? Do you think they tried to rebuild what he destroyed? Do you think they assigned new deities to control the seas, the underworld, the sun, etc? Would they establish a new king or queen of the gods? Do you think they maybe just left? I’d honestly love to see that in a God of War story. Kratos, returning to Olympus years later, most likely on a quest of some kind, and seeing how those that survived are dealing with the aftermath of his destruction. It would be interesting to see how and if Greece moved on after Kratos

Also an interesting note about Labyrinth is that, according to some interpretations, it was not some underground maze: it was a palace (labrys was the symbol of King Minos).
