Hi, I was burning thick wood too when I cut with a blade like yours. I switched to a 24 tooth blade and no more burning thick wood.
@MadebyNiclas10 місяців тому
It depends also on the quality of the blade, mine was worn out and I replace it with a new one😁

Add some wax or polish to the wood where it comes into contact with the metal parts of your saw. It will greatly reduce friction and make it easier to push your jig.

Hi Niclas, amazing work, I've added it already to my todo list🤩 ... thanks for sharing. You may add a handle on top of the fence in order to keep your right hand safe. It was so close to the blade during pulling the jig back at the 2nd travell. I've just subscribed and can't wait to see another great projects. Edit: wow you added the handle at the end, great job😍

Interestingly, I’ve been woodworking for over 45 years and never felt the need for this jig. So many of these videos of the “you can’t live without this” variety involve spending a lot of money making the manufacturer rich and you poorer; the saving grace of this video is that you could make it out of scraps. Believe me, you don’t need this jig; you might like this jig and you might improve your skills in making this jig.

I am just at the beginning of my UKposts journey and I am experimenting with different video titles and thumbnails, and I want to offer quality content. Deceiving people is not even the last thing I want to do and this comment shows that I have much more to learn so thank you for it!

@@MadebyNiclas thank you for your honest reply. If I had known that you were new to YT, then I would have qualified my remark. It may well be just my take on this or it could be a generational issues, but I don’t like hyperbole thumbnails. I think it demands what might be good content. I’m not suggesting my way will lead to greater success but, a title like “I find this very useful” is much more likely to get me to watch. In any case, I wish you the best of luck and may your experiences get you success

I admire the passion and invention but honestly this looks dangerous as fuck brother. Seriously trying to cut a beam like that is just plain stupidity. And no, i'm not shaming you. I know it's dangerous for a fact as i've tried this last year ;)
@MadebyNiclas10 місяців тому
Yes it is dangerous, it is dangerous even when cutting small pieces.. for example one of the clamps can get loose due to the table saw vibrations and can fall on the blade that is why this jig must be handled correctly, anyways i am gonna think twice before cutting big pieces like that beam... There is no shaming in someone concern for someone else safety so thank you for your comment... stay safe!!!
