I wanted to watch CES 2024 in 3D, but for some reason it’s on UKposts in 2D format, and I couldn’t find it on Oculus TV. It may take time to publish it. It will be interesting to see.

Yes sorry. UKposts has LOTS OF problem lately. It does not show up as 3D yet on UKposts VR. It is still in processing on the backend. Check back in coupled hours I am contacting UKposts support now to see what is going wrong.

@@hughhou It usually takes several hours after publication for the 3D video to be processed into 4K on UKposts. After this the picture will be correct.

Really cool but just flat? :o ! :) ▶️ You missed this question on another video: Hm you said you upscale first and do final render in Davinci/Premiere → Why? So the effects are cleaner since Topaz e e.g. doesn't try to mess up with text effects etc.? Since that: A) takes more time for upframing since you upframe more that you would need B) and it is more resource hungry to edit 120fps8K3D than just 30fps 8K3D isn't it? (okey you create proxies, but why prores then)

Sorry I am just got back and still behind on comment but will need to push out all CES content as all those has a time cap. I edit first, do up scale and color grade in resolve last and render. I know it is confusing but always edit in proxy and before upscale

Amazing Hugh... really nice views around the event... thanks for continuously create and share you content... It´s the best way to keep up to date. Just a question... which stabilizer are you usirng to travel and shoot this kind of footage... with this kind of events mobility and portability is a must and your VR content looks very stable and seems to be a lightwheigt setup for the R5C + Duslfidheye lense. Thanks!!!

I actually did a really bad job on stabilization on this one as you see there is lots of micro jiter and I drop my camera several time (I just time the shake with music so it is harder to tell). I see you already know that this is displaying as flat. But the image quality is still pretty great. I’m confused why it looks so good flat on my phone. Does YT supported the option to keep showing it as flat/cropped on desktop/mobile, and only show the full 3D180 on a headset? I personally would love to create 3d180 & “spatial” content, but my hesitation comes from knowing it’ll be years before most of my audience will have a headset. so I’d be making content that is awkward to watch on desktop/mobile- just for the sake of the 2% and growing audience to be able to someday enjoy the back catalog of in VR. Is there a practical way to shoot in VR180, but export the content to be easily viewable by the masses so that it displays to them as a standard flat video?

So I am confident this look great in both Flat and in Spatial (3D). But right now UKposts only process 1 eye so it look flat. Hopefully later today it will process the other eye so it display 3D. On UKposts VR it only show 1440P which is not correct. This video is 8K upload, so it should be at least 2160P (and in 4320P on Skybox VR). In theory, if you follow my workflow, you should not need to do anything extra. It will look great in VR and look still great on mobile to only show 1 eye by Vision Pro or UKposts. I mean if you UKposts get their act together. It was not like that and recently this problem happen to my account. I post a lot maybe that is why. But again case by case, this might not be your problem :)

So UKposts is stuck at 1440p on UKposts VR and showing FLAT. But it is immersive here on the browser. I have not seen this problem before. Has anyone experienced this when posting their own VR180 content? I contacted UKposts and have not heard anything back. It is extremely frustrating for creators already doing extra to get the high quality and just been punished by uploading too big of a file...

Everything is fine - 3D works. We just had to wait for the video to be processed in 4K. Very good.

@@hughhou it’s all cool, I just love to jump in a headset and see what you captured, I’ll drop my own CES video soon but I doubt I would have captured half as much as what you got. Hopefully UKposts sort it soon. I need to get back stateside to pick up a Vision Pro as I’m in the VP limbo of the UK.

Yeah the previous video worked fine ukposts.info/have/v-deo/kqKDeG2to61-w4E.html but this one seems to not show up as VR180 on UKposts app in headset. I can see the controls to move the camera around a bit on desktop browser though.
