Mo Salah’s second half goal proved the difference in a tense, tight encounter at Anfield.
Phil Foden appeared to have put City ahead early in the second half, only to see his strike ruled out for an Erling Haaland foul after referee Anthony Taylor adjusted his decision following a VAR intervention.
Both sides had the chances to win, but it was Liverpool who came out on top thanks to Salah’s 76th minute finish.

but the rest of his commentary was pants, he said City disallowed goal was a shocker "foul on Fabinho then foul on keeper" even when watching replay and then went on to say Allison's precision long pass to Salah to turn Cancelo then beat the brilliant Ederson was a simple goal, really, I think he best stick to introducing teams

Good spot !! I noticed that as well ! He covers the 30-40m to the last isolated defender in 5 seconds . He starts as soon as he sees deBruyne has fluffed the kick ! Much drilled into him methinks . Big defending error by City to leave such a gap between phase 2 attack defenders (3) Who Allison totally bypasses and the last guard, at least 40m! Salah runs to him rather than the other way around. Direct football at its best .

@@fabianski1389 past 5 years man both of these teams have been racking up viewership even crushing El Clasico at times, The El Clasico hasn't got that pull anymore because Messi and Ronaldo aren't there, and plus there's never a tight laliga title race between Madrid and Barca its kinda hard to watch because basically both teams have nothing to play for other than bragging rights where as it's different with man city and Liverpool, the winner of those games shapes how the league will look in the end

I think Pep should try and give Ortega more playing time over Ederson to prove himself so he can handle big matches too. He is gonna perform well with more playing time than fixing Ederson who is only good with his legs in pass and not giving good keeping when the defense gets frustrated

He got the cheeks to say that AFTER he watched the replay. haaland pulled Fab's shirt and held on till he fell......I understand wanting to keep peace and all....but that was a manC commentator. a club based commentator will always be biased. and there is nothing wrong with admitting that.

Absolutely fantastic match. Didn't think that elliot and milner would defend so well against the threat from the left flank. hats off to him.Also Allison and Gomez were almost flawless throughout. The team effort was outstanding. the fact that KDB and rodri's passing became sloppy at the ends of both the halves is itself a great testament to how good lfc were on the pitch.

The goal was amazing!! The ball was passed from Ali to Mo as if the two were playing alone, Mo controlled it in 3 merged moves (denied Cancello with his body, spined and killed the ball to the ground with left foot), the 4th move (pushed the ball forward and with his insane speed) made himself in front of the gool alone ahead of City players chasing him in vain, the 5th touch was to keep the situation as is and to bring him closer to the goal, the 6th touch ends that ferry tail which happened within 7 seconds only. @@christiankarlsen8441 He made a few balls ups; wrongly awarded City the goal kick after Ederson's save, should have called the tug on Fabinho long before VAR was even needed since it was an easy foul to see in real time, and unbelievably didn't call a foul when Silva pulled down Salah. Apart from that he got everything right, just in a messy and confusing way. Someone said he stopped a City attack to send Klopp off. If so that's a bad one. I saw Milner get away with a cheeky shove or two near the corner flag but nothing major. I'll never understand with all the VAR technology how many corners keep on being awarded as goal kicks. It's something that can be seen long before the keeper collects the ball for the goal kick.

Don't play Gundo and Rodri at the same, too many chefs in the kitchen, once I saw that Gundo, Rodri, KdB and Bernardo were all starting I knew it wouldn't go well, these are all top players mind you but there's a strategy with substitutions that Pep usually ignores in these big matches.

This game was soo fantastic from both teams but i was soo sad that mancity couldn’t draw this game .all the same, Liverpool did well because they had shown their massive power over mancity # from the community shield 🛡 and in this EPL....Haaland , did all he could but it wasn’t his day!!! Honestly I think a positive that stood out to me most in this game was the Foden is playing like an absolute beast and that shows us how much potential he has and maybe just maybe pep was right about him being the most talented youngster he has ever coached 🤔

Every time you see Silva Rugby tackling Salah, hard to understand why itv wasn't a free kick and a yellow card. And yet leading to Liverpool goal De Brune got a free kick with no contact. Oh I forgot Taylor is from Manchester!
