A true master of the art form. No sketch lines needed as anatomy, bone structure and musculature are all so well ingrained. How can someone be this freaking good whether they're doing line art, coloured comics or painting??? And that blending brush - fantastic!

I love your videos AND sunstone is literally my life, these videos help me whenever I design art on paint
@MetalmcBiff8 років тому
I am so curious about the brush settings for when you use the smudge tool. I see that scattering is checked and the results are SO JUICY!!! The video is immensely inspiring on many levels. Wonderful work!

wow it seems you've really improved in the last years. your technique seems so more 'natural' now! didn't think that was possible,but you reached a new ceiling

Beautiful.

you seem to be building the face rather than drawing it and filling it with color. my brain can't understand this method. I wish I could
@kurokrowl8 років тому
+Eric B it's because the experience! he doesn't need guidelines and stuff at this point. Really awesome!
@danreynoldsanimation87438 років тому
+Eric B It's the difference between painting and drawing.
@hartplastikkaktus8 років тому
+Eric B like Dan said, this is more based on painting...you more or less sculpt the face out of very rough shapes of color and add details over time. It takes a while to get used to (I use a mix of rough sketching and this), but the results are actually pretty awesome! Just try it, look up a reference picture for the start (if you feel comfortable with your ability to draw faces (or anything really) without references do that), reduce the thing you are trying to draw/paint into simple forms and colors and add details little by little. ^^
@danreynoldsanimation87438 років тому
+Eric B Definitely--it's a much looser approach to rendering and it can sometimes feel like you're battling the paint when you're trying to create some kind of accuracy. (As you can see in the video, Stjepan is sometimes using the liquid tool to adjust the proportions and spacing of facial features). On a live canvas, you would have to wash it out and repaint. But it's also a really organic way to render and sometimes the result can be quite spontaneous! :)
@hartplastikkaktus8 років тому
Dan Reynolds Animation yep, the results often feel very organic =)

Amazing!! Do you use reference for this sort of thing or did you just blast this off the top of your head?
@NeroDeamon8 років тому
+learningasidraw he's been painting and drawing for a VEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERY long time now. i think the point where he is at he dosnt really need references
@nebezial18 років тому
+learningasidraw no references, just imagination :)
@SketchedbySte8 років тому
Wow... is there anything specific you practise to be able to draw without reference or is it literally a case of just drawing everything so much until eventually it comes naturally? Thanks gor the reply. Keep up the great work
@nebezial18 років тому
15+years of 8+hours a day drawing every day...no big secret, just a whole lotta grinding and learning through studying and remembering one bit at a time, and still much more to improve on XD
@ketanichiwala8 років тому
is timed practice helpful. is that how you got better? like give yourself 30 mins and no more kinda thing?
@vididi348 років тому
+ketanichiwala As a slow artist who likes to dive into detail like me, giving yourself a countdown is helpful if you want to develop speed along with your painting skills.
@ketanichiwala8 років тому
Ludev that makes sense, i was just wandering if its a proven theory.

How old is your photoshop?!
@nebezial17 років тому
it's old i'm using a cs3 still. there is an issue in later versions that makes my smudge brush act weird. and since that brush has been a major part of my workflow for about ten years ever since i fist created it, i never felt inclined to upgrade to a later photoshop version
