THIS MAN SHOULD HAVE BEEN OUR FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT!!!!

I live in England. I spent four years at school studying economics and never once heard this man's name. Now I've discovered him I looked for his books Basic Economics in 4 libraries and couldn't see it. I'm starting to think there's a reason my country is in such a shit way.

I love this interviewer as much as I love Sowell. This interviewer is magnificent and does exactly what an interviewer should.
@adolfcritler42997 років тому
not argue against him, bet get him to argue for himself. It is great
@mayainverse94297 років тому
yep. exactly. he is very good. the left is a cancer that has been cast on all of humanity. not sure how we are supposed to get them out.
@adolfcritler42997 років тому
I think they will get themselves out, as their weird and contradictional policies are becoming so impactful on the public, that they will opt to at least vote against these regressives. And this nice house we built with government debt could of course collapse at any time, making way for change. Not much we individuals can do to impact this, but its the way it is.
@mayainverse94297 років тому
Adolf Critler doubt it. look at other countires. the government is going to take all of our guns. crime will increase at same time as the government closing in on censorship of free speech. one day you are going to wake up in pseudo north korea and wish you could go back in time to change it but you cant.

27:38 Bam. That right there. As a young man in 2020 (just turned 20 yesterday), this is the feeling that has bothered me for my whole childhood, finally summed up into words. I got sent here by my Critical Thinking class expecting some boring 30-minute diatribe, but instead I got the revelation of a lifetime. Great stuff.

This man's name had never once been mentioned to me in school or by anybody later in any capacity. I literally had to stumble over his name through my own newborn interests in research AFTER I began to question those in power in our nation. Same goes for Milton Friedman.
@donneary71043 роки тому
It's interesting his last comment was about the fact that he was 81 in the year 2011 when this video was made. It's now 2021, ten years later and Thomas Sowell is still alive and will turn 91 this year. It's also interesting to note that he is still making videos of various social issues at 91 years of age. His mind remains clear and sharp to this day.

"Never underestimate the difficulty of changing false beliefs by facts." Undeniably true. America at this time is a land in which ideology trumps evidence. And this puts the nation and we who live here in grave peril.

+Bam Mam Because When you deal with someone that you cannot reason with you are ultimately left with two choices, you either A) Ignore them and instruct others to do the same because they are irrational and do not respond to the world as it. Or B) You eliminate them from the conversation, by any means necessary because they cannot contribute anything to any discussion because they are living in a world populated by their imagination, not reality. The real problem is what happens when you can no longer pick Option A) because the people in charge ARE the people who do not respond to facts.

@JRMCNEA6 років тому
They are not prophetic. They are self fulfilling prophosies. You cant underfund and gut programs and then claim those programs were doomed to fail. You doomed them to fail when you sent billions over seas to make corparations more attractive to foreign governments, while you sucked the lifeblood out of the middle class and underclass of your own country. Ignorant people continue to fall for the same stupid tricks. The lie that they are the arbitors of their own fortune in a nation of people looking out for themselves. How many inovations have been shelved because it was cheaper in the short term to stay with the inneficient program already paid for? How many technologies have been stiffled to protect the profit margins of out dated and obsolete companies. How many trillions go out the door to unprofitabke companies while programs that would do more and cost a fraction are under funded and demonized. How many fortune 500 companies are on the government tit while the people paying into that system are struggling to survive.

@DrSuperMonky7 років тому
The education system is largely run by the left, it may be intentional, it may be unconscious, but they leave important stuff out sometimes if it runs counter to the democrat narrative.
@DrSuperMonky7 років тому
Why I left the left is they put an inordinate amount of focus on the worst parts of history and seem keen to divide Americans into thinking of themselves primarily on ethnic rather than national lines. The media does it too, black guys aren't being shot at a higher rate than before, and in fact, before all the news coverage this rate had been going down for decades... now it's up, I think not because there is an increase, but due to an increased perception that the police are out to get them, this in turn causes them to be more nervous around cops, which the officers perceive and in turn become more nervous themselves.... but thinking beyond two steps is too hard for most it seems...
