This showed up in my UKposts feed this morning, and really enjoyed it. By far the best and most informative bus conversion video that I've watched.

Absolutely love the rant about paying taxes on a vehicle you bought and paid for. I fully agree with you 100% the bus looked great on its maiden voyage.

It is amazing the work they put into this bus to be a house. Quite unique. I like it.

make sure you can see out of the doorway and to the side view mirrors from the doors and plus an opening to see on the side window so you done block your view .

You guys are such an inspiration. I love how everything just fell right into place for you. I love the giggle that you made when you realize that the paint had flown over onto your neighbors car. I love how gracious your mother/mother-in-law was to let you stay in her home and build your home on wheels on her property. I love how you had relatives with different crafts that could come to your aid when need be, welding was a huge deal and it’s so cool that you had someone who professionally did that for a living. I love how well that roof raise went up. I imagine it would’ve been pretty uncomfortable had you not raise the roof, to have to be stooped over walking through would be kind of a downer and it would definitely still some of the joy away from the experience of living on the road like that. This is incredible I feel so inspired

Amazing build. The roof lift was especially well executed considering the length and the amount of window frames that needed to line up. I don't think there is any better way as a DIY project. Looking forward to the next installment. Stay safe J.

@jameskahlerjr.2 роки тому
you need to keep in mind that doing custum rv bus and it must be done properly in curtain way you need to have access to get out of the back way to exit for an emergency incase of a fire plus you need to make sure you plenty of space for sleeping in the back and have it inspected and check with contactor for youe idea it must be done right of it fails
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
Yes, we haven’t gotten to that step yet but we will have an exit spot on the back.
@scottstorch42272 роки тому
Great video Jesse and Jae. Looking forward to the next one.
@kimsikorski56912 роки тому
If I was going to raise the roof on a bus I would raise it to the max that it could be raised like the buses in other countries where you get the true second story. I think that would be really cool to do. Great job in your build. Looks like it is going to be amazing. God bless 🙏💞🙏
@chakaula86422 роки тому
2 THINGS... CAN YOU SHARE: If you kept all the receipts and figured out the total cost? AND... What was the total final weight (and if there are any legal weight restrictions on the bus and build.)? ALOHA

Hi nice bus, I'm a bus driver for a living and I was just curious about your nice wooden door at the front of the bus, how would you handle busy intersections and T Junctions with such a huge blind spot. You wouldn't be able to see oncoming traffic from the right? !
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
Not very well lol. We actually plan to replace the door. We really liked the idea of a wooden door and planned to put a large window in it, but after having it in for a while now I think we’re going to replace the whole door with a much lighter fiberglass door with a window from top to bottom.
@JoniGMovieCorp2 роки тому
@@lifeanywhere Hi If the bus was going to be static I think the wooden door would have been lovely, but that's not what you converted the bus for. 🤪, Lighter Fiberglass door may be better option you could always tint the glass slightly for privacy hope you find something suitable. . All the best with the rest of the build. And thanks for the reply. 👍🏻🚌

@waynedavenport39192 роки тому
U guys doing a great job. But was u affaid abt raiseing the ceiling to high ? Like for bridges. Js asking. Great job tho
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
The bus is about 12 inches shorter than a semi truck
@briandavis99752 роки тому
I got know how much was the bill to remove the paint off the neighbors truck? I've been following you for awhile how's it going? How's the insulation working out? Anything you'd do different? Anyway thanks for sharing your journey.
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
Cheaper than I imagined. I believe they used someone they know personally and they only charged them $600 total to buff the paint specks off. The insulation is working great. If I had to change anything, I would’ve wired more accent lights. Too late now.
@lorrainechapman69402 роки тому
I would like to do that but I have a question when you raised the roof what are the black bars that you pounded in with a hammer and then the white putty looking stuff you put on the outside to cover the metal the sheet metal
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
1.25” square piping. It connected the channel on the bus since we had to cut them in half to raise the roof. 1.25” fits into those channels. And the putty looking stuff is Bondo. Body filler. Once it dries you can sand and smooth. We used bondo to erase the weld lines on the roof transition. It just gives it a much better look.
@lorrainechapman69402 роки тому
@@lifeanywhere thank you so much for the reply I think a raised roof in the bus looks so much better and when it's white on the top it's even brighter it allows for more space and more storage
@reneed87932 роки тому
How much did you raise the roof? We thought a ft for ours but the welder recommends 2 ft.
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
1.5ft. We didn’t do 2ft because we knew we were adding rooftop ac units. Wanted to make sure it was shorter than a semi truck.
@douglaswindsor1202 роки тому
The best way to do any projects since I discovered the internet and utube is to look online your's is the third one I've seen and they all had the same problem in the one case trying to fit a 6 foot 6 inch in a bus designed for kids under six feet their raising the roof went well back 40 years ago I lifted my whole house 8 ft and put a new foundation underneathnd just mom and me and 9 12 ton jacks we used pressure treated lumber for underground foundation and payed an engineering company who specialized in pwf and built it to their spec and had them inspect it the smart part was we pre-built all the sections of the foundation so once we had it up we just had to put the sections in the biggest worry we had was if strong winds came up it could blow it off the jacks I've come to the conclusion that it's a whole lot less stressful to get the money to buy things and do it right we should have made six by six piers instead of 4x4 posts braced having a 8 foot post three front middle ond back of the house was scary there is only one thing wrong with doing it yourself is like you've already found out as you build you see the problem like the roof being too low and you fix it adding extra time and money to the build the best thing about doing it yourself you find the flaws in the build and fix them so you have something you love not something that'll do add you hate them time you see them and a ceiling you're constantly banging your head on gets really annoying fast so you're smart to raise it its great when you have family and friends who can help you with their expertise it's a whole lot easier and cheaper it would've been fairly expensive to have to hire a portable welder you never know if there taking their time to do it right or just to make more money
@celestialrvliving2 роки тому
Can’t wait for the next video! I too had that huge weight lifted feeling when I got rid of all the years of stuff to start out on my adventure. Now it’s been three years and I still feel like it was

@slamboy662 роки тому
How do you drive with door boarded up ?
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
Technically that’s the door. Solid wood. But after installing it, the driving difficulty occurred to me. We’re planning on putting in a door with a big window before the build is done.
@rayrowe26642 роки тому
ive watched a few of these bus builds and it seems nobody figures out how much weight their adding to the bus
@lifeanywhere2 роки тому
Well, the seats weigh quite a bit. Plus these buses are rated for about 48 adults. That’s several tons of weight.
