I worked with a guy named Ruben who said this was the greatest car chase on film ever. He said with a straight face it was better than Bullitt Hahaha no bullshit. When it was pointed out to him that the scene was physically impossible he said Bullitt was filmed on a weekend because of the light traffic so Bullitt wasn't believable that's the honest truth.

Biggest mistake in the entire film could have been fixed with a small scene entered in. Biggest mistake is that Brian could drive his car backwards and not roll over the cable wire, and wrap it around his rear axle. Easy fix would have been a short scene where he flicks a switch and a winch on the rear bumper spools the cable up, then when he gets in front, he flicks the switch and unspools the cable.
