Research tells us that upwards of 70-80% of kids who commit gun violence gain access to the weapon via a family member. It blows my mind that we've waited this long to support this research with legal accountability but I'm relieved we're finally getting there. WE'RE the adults... WE'RE supposed to know better and do better.

I'm glad that parents are starting to be held accountable. I've always thought they should be. There were so many red flags and so many of these cases where if the parents acted accordingly none of this would have happened. If you know your child is mentally unstable why have a gun in the house that's attainable to them? Or why buy them a gun? I'll never understand that. So many senseless deaths haven't caused by negligence.

Willful negligence and wilful neglect. Mommy Dearest was way too busy with her hobbies, her friends, her lover and her friends to have much interest, time or love left to be a parent. Dad didn't exactly care much for his son, either. They both panicked when they heard about the school shooting, thinking it was their son. That's evidence that they clearly knew he was struggling hard enough to do something like that. They just didn't care. They were all about Me! Me! Me!

I don't understand how it's even possible that Karen could have killed her boyfriend by backing into him in a driveway unless it was a very long driveway and she gunned it, or she actually rolled over him with her SUV. Was there any evidence that he was run over and not just hit and knocked down? I mean, you would have to hit somebody extremely hard and in just the right place to knock them out (long enough to freeze to death) by backing up in a driveway. Seems even a small child could survive being hit and knocked over in a driveway so long as s/he wasn't run over.

Josh, can you please go into the statement that District Attorney made public something along the line of how based on the evidence they have Karen Read is guilty. How unethical and unheard of it is and how lawschools have already started to teach future lawyers how to not lawyer. Also Karen Read case is not only National news but international. This case made headlines here in Sweden too and other parts of the Europe.

The Pxford shooting happened within driving distance from where i live. So was the Jessica H. abuduction. I have to drive past the gas station she was taken from each. Time i go to the city.

I didn’t waiver on supporting both Crumbley convictions. Independent of their child committing this heinous crime, they were both responsible for neglect and essentially abetting. Nothing is more important than supporting your struggling children and I wonder what might have been had they taken immediate measures to support their son. Landmark for sure; long-overdue, definitely.

I can’t believe I forgot to watch this! Work has been absolutely crazy since pool season started. These cases are fascinating. I don’t understand, and will continue to watch these cases until I do understand, how?! The how and why people do these horrible things has to be answered for me to sleep at night. I’m praying for a safer and better World for my Grandson.

The point is not that the gun was unsecured. The problem is their parenting they knew this boy was having problems. The completely ignored that fact. The gun didn’t jump up and kill those children their son did. 🤬

If these parents are responsible then every parent who buys their children vehicles for their 16th birthday or buys an underage child alcohol should be also held responsible if something unfortunate were to occur. They bought their minor a weapon, Gave him access to a weapon, and didn't him teach gun safety. They were an accessory to this. They were rightfully prosecuted.

To be a responsible gun owner, security needs to be increased. Firearms can't be so readily accessible, fully loaded especially to teenagers & young kids. Mentally unstable adults & teenagers have no business with any firearms.

If you're gonna be a gun owner, you better accept all the things that come with it and take time to make damn sure you're doing your part in ensuring YOUR weapon doesn't end up where it doesn't belong. The constitution is irrational? Lose your freedoms and then come back and talk… the media does not talk about all of the cases that a c.c person has saved the day… those don’t fit the narrative, just because a few people are irresponsible doesn’t mean all guns should be gone. and did you know you can make a gun? He stole their guns to commit a crime, but they are charged for the crime. It makes no sense. If the code was his birthday or their anniversary and he managed to guess it, would they still be charged? It seems like they are being punished because their code simply wasn't hard enough.
