For those who wonder why Ziqi hasn’t uploaded any new video, she is going through some tough time fight for the fair share of her name brand. Her MCN makes huge money in China selling Liziqi brand merchandises, but Liziqi did not get much because of her lack of experience when she signed those contracts. That’s why she stopped creating new content to protest. Hopefully this whole thing can be settled in her favour and she can get her name brand back.

For those who are asking about Liziqi, she is fine but has been seeking out legal help to sort out an unfair business deal with a promotional company she used to use to manage and promote her content and products. She has always been in full control of her content, but only in partial control of the business side of the things. She was a bit naive when she started to work with the private business who said would help her to grow and she signed away a lot of her business rights. Maybe she really only wanted to focus on content creation and leave the business management to others. But right now she realized she got taken advantage of and she wanted her rights back. She deserves better anyway. I think she is taking a break from uploading until she can sort out the business dispute. It’s a good growing lesson for her. Being so big, she has to grow into a savvy business woman also to protect her hard work.

I’m glad she showed us the process of making salt this is actually a style that is slowly fading away. You don’t have many people who are in the salt business. Show love to all the hard working salt farmer, she showed support instead of just going to the store to buy salt. Most salt sold in the store doesn’t have as many minerals in is also she cooking for her grandma so many this salt is of better quality. Also good for her on all her modern day tech from the drones to her new car.. I still like that she’ll ride a bike or a horse even is she has updates modern comforts.

I miss her so much 😭 I hope, whatever the dispute or problem is that everything turns out well in the end. If she decides to start afresh I will definitely be supporting her. Liziqi and her grandma are the heart of these videos. Fighting!

Some background info: The place "Zi Gong" is located in SiChuan. The tall plunger that they show is the world first over 1000m (1001.42m to be exact ≈ 330 floor of a building) in depth of well. The well started extracting in 1835. It is used for extracting "sea-water". Although SiChuan right now is a mountainous region, over thousands of years ago the ocean was covering the place. (Note: SiChuan is very close to Tibet and thousand of years ago, the Himalayas was also below sea level.) That water is from Triassic period. The mechanism behind it is by using several hundred pounds of metal tie to the rope and used it to bang it to create the well (no mechanics were used to help). There is also natural gas found during the process, so the well do not smell like the ocean. The whole process took 13 years to complete. It will take around 4 minutes for going up or down. The seawater is about 55 kg each time during extraction. It contains about 14% of salt (14 grams of salt in 100 grams of seawater). Inside the building is where pure salt is extracted. The first process is to boil the water with soy milk (yes, the soy milk, because it contains vegetable proteins that would formed a layer of skin of impurities on top of the sea water). The next process (5:14) is boiling it for 4 hours half covered so water content can be lowered can white lump of crystal can form. Then she scoop them and put them into a cauldron and more water is dripped down; (5:55) this water is contaminate with heavy metal and magnesium chloride which is toxic to humans. (That water can further be purified to make tofu!) At the same time more sea water that was left during the second process can be boiled again and pour over the salt in the cauldron. This is for purifying the salt, and can repeat for 12-15 times. (The cauldron is about 100kg of salt). The building can make 2 tonnes of salt daily. Then you have pure salt!
