Superb video, one of the best ever on Tesla or Elon. An interesting mix of awestruck fanboyism and tongue-in-cheek self-awareness and cynicism. This is the only video I've found so far that a) shows the crowd reaction to the Roadster unveiling, b) gives us a ride the same night in that thing, and c) let's us shake hands with Elon, who has similar hair style. Body double job could maybe get you a discount on the Roadster, think about it.

When you look online and find that "Formula One race cars have been recorded to reach 0-60 as fast as 1.6 seconds, however the typical range for modern day F1 cars is between 2.1 to 2.7 seconds. The 2007 Honda RA107 f1 race car goes 0-100 mph in a blistering 4 seconds flat." It's faster than the average F1s!!! crazy!

I wish I could go to one of these events, would be something to remember a lifetime. But wanted to say thank you for sharing your experience and thoughts on that night. I could feel your excitement and the electric atmosphere of that night through your video. If I could ever be able to afford one , I would definitely purchase a roadster hands down without a thought

It won't be coming out until 2019 at the earliest, and judging by Tesla's history they will not rush the car into production. It could easily slip back to 2020 or later release date. By then somebody like Koenigsegg will match or beat it slightly.

You can have noise in a Tesla if you get it customized by Saleen. It sounds nothing like gasoline engines, obviously, but it does sound kind of cool. Instead of growling it is more like a howl. Most new cars don't have manual even as an option. They are all pretty much tiptronic paddle shifters.

You what's not a big deal? The BS range on the truck. Makes no sense, my truck goes over 1000 miles and takes 5 minutes to fuel, and that's fully loaded. 🤦♂️ I'm fully for the cars, but there truck doesn't make sense. And he should probably know that trucks don't take gasoline...just saying

Current day hypercars cost north of $1M. The roadster is a bargain, and will beat all of them. Also, it will be an instant collector car.

Diego Quevedo it will beat them in a straight line but it will not defeat them where they reign as kings: in a race track. If you want to talk about an EV super car talk about the NextEV NIO EP9 which lapped the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes. This car however will accomplish nowhere near that number

It will beat them in the race track, its quicker in the turns, and it goes to 250 miles per hour, don't forget this is the base model.

Bryan Ruiz No EP9 acceleration is way less than Roadster 2 and so as the top speed. EP9 and roadster both have the lowest center of gravity with batteries on the floor so no problem with cornering.

Also, How fast do you think it will take to reach its top speed? How many gears do you think it will use? Usually, electric vehicles are good in initial acceleration, but due to the absence of multiple gears, the petrol ones have better acceleration to meet their top speed.
