I think the work you're doing on your channel is really well done and legitimately important. You're exposing a lot of people to an intersection of mechanical and electrical engineering that they have probably never considered. Thank you for all the work that goes into making these videos, you should be proud of yourself.

It'll probably be difficult to fit in that tiny wheel, but have you tried using a Halbach array for the magnets? If you can fit it in, it might just give you the torque you need to really get it moving the way you want.
@THE_BUDDHA
@THE_BUDDHA Рік тому
That seems interesting. Because halbach is stronger mag field, that would increase torque?

Too cool! Seeing it roll across the workshop floor helps to put the tiny scale into perspective, astounding all that's packed into that little of a space. But I love the fact that it's literally a one-PCB robot. Not a robot with only one PCB, a robot that _is_ only one PCB. Motors, chassis, and all. Just wow.

I'm constantly impressed and inspired by the creativity here, really love this project. One thing I was was thinking about was why you continued to make the wheels more or less solid when you scaled them up (I'm assuming they aren't solid infill but still). I think to get the benefit of surface area but maintain low weight you could pocket out the design and see a reasonable improvement or just print them with little to no infill. That said, I don't think that's a "cure-all". Really excited for the next video!

Great stuff - very thin flexible 'fingers' or flaps on the tires would increase traction on rough surfaces I think - also the extra weight of the double lipo probably helped traction (but required more torque - trade off). Keep up the awesome work.

Excellent educational video, you're definitely exploring the boundaries of using BLDC motors, one suggestion if I may, is to explore if possible to use a combination of BLDC and dc motors i.e. instead of using magnets try to use another pcb connected to the M board with brushes (if you can find that small) in that way you can reduce the weight & cost of the motor + Possibly achieving more torch by switching this new pcb with different voltage polarity and phase angle. Again great to see another Maltese having a top notch UKposts channel. Proset

Very cool project! If you want to expand on this project, consider other shapes instead of a box. You could probably make a functional suspension out of the flexible PCB quite easily. Also, for a lighter robot, thinner wheels might actually work in your favor if all the wheels are making good contact with the ground.

With a more clam shell design you could use pins again to add rigid to center with help of Aluminum Standoffs. A plugable pi cam, would be cool. As would passthough holes big enough to mount a pin on ethier side for the battery. Love the designs, i wonder if a boat would work. You got my like.
