Just be careful. This song is more addictive than just about any other of their tracks. I...I think I'm obsessed. Unusual beat, a dark and nuanced mixture from Dave along with his usual sweeping vocals, and their signature tones remain. Genius..

Fun fact: this music video is inspired by a dream Dave had as a teenager, dark and gloomy with the flaming coffin on a hill next to a dead tree, he says he tried to save someone in the coffin and burnt his hands in his dream. He made it a reality in this video. Pretty cool

Love random band facts! Ty that's a great one. Did you know after Nirvana Tom Petty asked This kid with such talent on the drums .... Our Dave Grohl to be his new drummer. He played an SNL episode with Tom and the heart breakers.... And then had to decide between rolling with the band idea of the foo fighters....or being Mr. Tom Pettys drummer. As we see he choose to help create the foo fighters and it was obvious success. It must have been scary to take that chance.

It’s definitely darker than any of their other stuff . listening to this and reading the lyrics over and over in the video itself I think speaks volumes . because the creativity of these artists you know comes from their atmosphere of their world around them and right now the world is in chaos and despair with this pandemic in the global economy it’s not their best but it is it is good it’s it’s definitely growing on me the more I listen to it and specially the lyrics I’m a lyrics person lyrics are important to me

The woman clinging to Dave is literally the shame creeping up on him, following, covering... also the sort of pulsing, coming/going of her is very similar to my experience with the feeling of shame. like waves. I really like how this songs restricts itself from going into full-epic-distortion-scream mode. This keeps the tension and groove high throughout the whole thing. Very not typical Foo in that sense, and I dig it!

@@mareky505 To be fair, there are TONS of foo tracks where he doesn't go full aggressive scream mode. It would have felt weird on this track. He's still got it. And he will unleash on the new album at some point. I'm not even worried about it.

Except that half of this groove is just overdubs. If you don’t believe me, watch any live version of this song, half of the groove is missing because Taylor Hawkins didn’t have four arms.

Is ripping off David Bowie really “growth” though? Dave had his own style at one time. Since wasting light, he made several bad albums, so this seems like more of the same actually. The first included bad songs in the style of different cities. Next, we had a quick mediocre EP after sonic highways was not well received. Next, on to copying “The Bird and the Bee (nobody asked for this). Now it’s on to ripping off David Bowie with a boring song that never goes anywhere. You liked the foo fighters for 21 years, and THIS is what you wanted all along? You must have been disappointed by a lot of the songs where you can distinguish verse from chorus then. This just seems like a fake comment to me.

It’s an okay song, the chorus is quite catchy. I feel like this one has to grow on me a bit more but I appreciate the approach that they’re taking. I can’t wait to see what they’ve got in store on the album 🤞🏽 Edit: I’m still mixed about the song. Apart from the chorus, it’s not anything too special. Hoping to see where MAM shines.
