I've seen him interviewed several times. No doubt he's aware of the unpopularity of his position. I'm convinced that some candidates run to raise their political profile, without expecting to win. As he said, the truth can be hard to accept. It might sound a little blunt to say that Trump is running to keep out of prison, but there is no daylight between his legal and campaign strategies. They are all about denial of his personal responsibility for mistakes, allegations of organized persecution by the Deep State, and keeping his cult of personality alive. If for example Roe v. Wade was overturned during his watch, because he chose judges who would be sympathetic to the pro-life cause, does he reserve the right to be dictator? What else do you call a man who reviles his God -fearing VP for not going along with his coup attempt? God is very resourceful. He can use even a man like Trump to promote a good cause,. But that does not make every cause which Trump supports a good one, and no one should fell beholden to him for doing a few things right. Stalin's crimes against humanity are not forgotten just because he reopened Russian churches during ww2. It is GOD Who gets all the credit when good things happen. It is because Trump says and does many ungodly things that he is in legal trouble. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. I'm not saying that no Deep State exists. What I'm saying is that Trump has benefited all his life from 'the very system which he claims is persecuting him.
