Jumping from the Z fold three to the Z fold five is an upgrade to the outer screen size. its noticeably wider but very slightly. That's why I'm jumping from my Z fold three to the Z fold 5 but also because the hinge they decided to put on the five as much better. It's much more aesthetically pleasing. The screen size upgrade happened with the Z fold 4 and the z fold five has the same screen size as Z fold 4. Everyone keeps forgetting about that upgrade they did with the four from the three

Yeah it looks like a nice upgrade. I'm used to the outer screen on the 3 but I can imagine it being even better on the 4/5

I have the fold 5 and my old fold 3. Fold 3 is still a solid phone. While the fold 5 has minor updates with a better hinge, the difference in form and function does not fall far from the fold 3.

I say do it if that's what u want and can afford to. The 5 is nice. Like I said I was definitely tempted. But I'm still contemplating the idea. Seeing if I think it's worth it.

Keep in mind if you ARE gonna remove the inner screen protector, that the screen will be less resilient to dust and and scratches. I removed my inner screen protector after it started bubbling in the center along the crease around the 1 year mark, then about a week ago i noticed some dust and dirt on my inner screen (probably from my pocket) and when i went to wipe it off, I noticed some cracks along the crease. Just be careful to keep any dust away from this phone as it CERTAINLY is not dust proof, and the hinge is not the only thing to worry about with dust, especially if your inner screeen protector is removed. I would personally recommend someone go for the Fold 4 over the Fold 5 for a more robust hinge, and I've personally never seen any accounts of the Fold 4 having any problems along the crease/hinge but have heard of plenty for the Fold 3, as well as a personal experience with screen problems on the Fold 3.

I've owned mine for 1 year. The Svreen protector started peeling so I took it off. I've had no problems and I own the ub pro case too.

I upgraded to the 4 from the 3 and the only difference worth anything is the front display, its a minor increase but it is really noticeable to me. But i dont see a reason to upgrade to a 5, upgrading to a 4 is good enough and with its price decrese

Im sticking with my Fold 3 as well. I still love it, specially after a service repair i just had. Feels like a feesh new phone.

Linus from LTT has millions of $ and used a 4 and 5, yet said he will stick with the 3 cause he doesnt need those improvements. He only said the battery life could be better, other than that its the same phone to him with a better hinge and outer screen. But people buy this for the inner screen. I only want the 5 for the battery, so a fold 3 would suffice me as a non heavy user

@@ancientslav4863 Yeah the Fold 3 is when I believe the Samsung Folds got really good. I haven't been tempted to buy the 4 or 5. Mostly because of the price, it's just not worth it. I took advantage of the insurance I pay for the phone and sent it in for a fresh battery replacement. Makes the phone feel brand new all over again.

Honestly, i got a case as thick as that one at one point for my fold3 but i soon came to realize that the folded form of the phone is plenty strong to withstand alot of falls and ive had alot of falls and nothing bad happened. Although when open, it is very vulnerable with that none glass screen and as far as i know, there is no case that can protect from a falling opened zfold. So putting on a bulky case just makes is too bulky to be comfortable and just over protects the already protected area.

I sold my trusty S21 Ultra, which I got for 500$ last year and it was amazing. I had a S22 and tried my fiends s23 (non ultra models) and they lacked speaker sound and screen quality of the s21u. I sold it cause I want a fold. So what now, a 450$ fold3 mint condition, 700$ fold4 like new 3 month used, or a 1100$ fold5?

@@ancientslav4863 fold 3 seems to have the best value. I have the 5 but I don't see that much of a difference from the 3 that I had if there is any substantial anyways

@@nico77212 how was the battery on the fold3 with android 13? Was it still like people say just 3h SOT? And did you eventually start to not notice the crease in the middle?

@ancientslav4863 battery wise, I would always have a powerbank with me and I would put it at 85% mode all the time to help with longevity. Crease wise, I honestly didn't notice the crease at all when I'm immersed to whatever I'm doing, I do notice that the crease is less on the 5 but again, there should not be any case where the crease would bother you in any ways, just like the behind the screen camera. I try to play this game of find the camera when I forget where it is. Ahaha

Hmmmm, idk about that. I've invested in the supcase line the pro and beetle and they've protected not just my outside but also inner screen from hits. They have a good raised lip for inside coverage and raised coverage for your cameras. Expensive cases but worth it for my expensive phone and investment.

Glad i did not upgrade from my Fold 3 to Fold 5 till now. The Black Friday deal was awesome. I think moving forward, i will do any potental upgrades on Black Fridays. Will miss my Fd 3. It held up nicely. I nust was worried about further depreciation in value

Sorry you are just looking for visible changes. You will realize the internal changes when you actually start using it. It is worth the upgrade from Fold 3 to Fold 5. The cameras are upgraded, battery life is a lot lot better and the whole phone experience is very nice. You can not just look at externals and decide to make the switch!

I've been using the z fold 2 for about three years now. The best phone case I found for it was the spike and slim armor pro. The only downside is if you're wearing a suit, it will have a vulge in any oocket youre putting it in. I had to slip the sim car back to my galaxy s8+ whenever i wear a suit or dress pants which is rare. I just hate having yo take off the cSe with the sticky tabs tonreduce th strength of the adhesives and chance ruining the screen protector perfect seal on tbe dcreen with bubbles to take out the sim card and put it back on. Called t mobile, they wa ted to charge me a monthly fee for some digit plan. For the large inner screen i went with a nice frosted screen protector.

How did the inner screen hold up during your 3 years of use? Do you open it up often? Any minor cracks?

@@retrakor Works perfectly. I think the main full screen does need a type of screen protector to help maintain its structural integrity. I went with a nice matted screen protector. No gloss or reflection which is great while driving looking at the maps. Also makes the crease invisible. What I truly love is knowing that I have a 3mp camera holepunch and the new ones have a 3 mp which means when I do video calls, my second generation phone video calls will have higher clarity that the new 3rd, 4rth, and now 5th generation phones. Also my fold 2 uses less power for a front screen 60hz compared to the new models which have 120 for the front and inside screen which means more battery power than theirs. I've heard the sound quality of the newer versions suffer because of the waterproofing from a tinny sound.

It's been 19 months with my ZF3. Drop 6 times with the protected case. The current issue is the audio flex cable needs to be replaced. The cost to replace the flex cable will be around $300 to $400. I'm pretty good taken things apart, I can buy the parts and tools to replace it myself for $100. I hope it will continue to last until the ZF 7 or 8 comes out.

Interestingly enough your reason for not switching is the reason i switched. My zold fold 3 will be worth alot less next year hence why im upgrading this year.

@@MayhemBryanI thought that too at first but thinking about it I doubt theres going to be some major changes. Every one has just been little improvements on the hinge and performance, tiny bit thinner. The 6 will be a slightly better 5 like the 5 was to 4. 4 to 3 etc etc

I totally agree and never even thought about getting the fold 5. I may get the pixel fold if the price drops but I'm holding on to the fold 3 it's my fav phone and it continues to work and do everything the new phones do

The Zfold 5 camera is way better the battery life is better. I have the fokd 3 and I love it. I passed on the fold 4 because of the minor changes. But when you combine all the changes over 2 years its time to upgrade. Plus the 800 trade in value is worth it. I wouldn't pay 1,8000 but 1,000 sounds much better. These phones don't last forever and neither does the battery. So when the battery life goes you may be forced into a new phone. Is it everything i want in a phone no but it could be years before the perfect fold comes out.

Performance has been great. Runs any game releases without any hiccups. Battery had been good, too, considering it has 2 big screens. When I'm working I use the screens alot and charge the phone only once so it'll last me all day. It charges fast.

I love my fold 3, I was tempted to wanna upgrade to the 4 or 5 but since I feel the 3 is the blueprint to the 4 and 5 I could easily keep my fold 3 and save the money. Unless I upgrade it from 256 to 512. It's a very good phone. I've had for only 10 mths now. Got it jan 2023. So I'll stick longer.

@alsurya4953 not any damage. And I bought it from Amazon refurbished in excellent condition. It looked and performs like new. And the pricing was in the 500 dollar range I didn't even pay 600 dollars. It was my birthday gift to myself.

@GgggGggg-es9cj it's decent it depends on usage. I usually get 4 to 6 hrs a day using both screens moderately. Plus I'm usually around a charger if needed.

They would have been dumb to give you $800 or $1000 for your zf3. I have my zf3 still but waiting for my pixel fold to come. Samsung playing with themselves with the 🤏🏿 minimum upgrade.

Great content bruh. Yeah but the Z Fold 5 is gonna be a hard pass for me. I wish that they would've put the s-pen inside. It seems like Samsung is missing a big opportunity AGAIN. The S23Ultra is fine, but the S-pen is more suited for the larger screen IMO.

Bro that's like the ugliest case I have ever seen for the fold3. I got the phone in same color and brown leather case looks solid. No protection with the leather case though but your case makes the phone a tank.

After using the pixel fold. The galaxy fold is 100x better. The pixel is way too heavy and lacks in features. Gone back to the fold 5 and depending on what the 6 has to offer will upgrade
