I've played this game for 12 Years, and thanks to Vanguard I will not be playing it anymore.

Please don't integrate Vanguard into LoL. This program is so aggressive and messes with my PC everytime. So I was forced to stop playing Valorant because of this...

imagine optimizing league for older PC's then putting in Vanguard to get rid of all that effort, crazy.

Just make it so that Vanguard isn't always on when league isn't even open.

Vanguard is literally the reason im never coming back to league tbh i am a rather security and performance focussed person, so I will absolutely NOT run a kernel level software all the time, even if i just want to play one game of league a month. thats a security risk and performance dip i will not accept. I dont think riot will change anything about this, but as long as vanguard has to start with windows all the time and runs even when im not playing league is unacceptable

Vanguard is nearly maximally intrusive and affecting of people's ability to play. You really expect people to hand over that kind of access to protect the game, when the whole reason there are so many scripters and hackers right now is because you couldn't protect your own data? I'd rather play with a hacker in half of my games than play league with Vanguard. It's arrival will be my permanent deletion of the game unless it's removed. Principal alone is enough justification, let alone all the potential sketchy things it opens the playerbase to.

The only thing that really makes me hate Vanguard is the fact, that it disrupts many community-developed eSport broadcast production toolkits (like the one from the Riot Community Volunteers. I am part of eSports Cologne, an eSports club in Germany and we do many community casts of our club teams in the Prime League. Due to Vanguard coming to League, many features like gold graphs, custom scoreboards, objective counters etc will not be working anymore, as they have used passive memory reading. I, and many other esports communities, would really appreciate, if Riot Games could make this data available via the API or cooperates with community developers (like the RCVolus) to find a good solution. Vanguard will be my retirement of LoL, I never used cheats and I'll never will, that's not the reason, but because I will never install any application on my system that runs on kernel level, no matter what it is, it's not happening, period. I had a good time all these years in LoL, it was a fun journey

I have not once encountered someone in league that felt like he cheated. And everything in league needs to be confirmed by the server anyway. Putting Vanguard into League feels wrong.

I've played league on and off for about 8 years now but with the addition of Vanguard I'm quitting with this update. I beta tested Valorant and the version of Vanguard used then caused a boot drive corruption on pc which cost hundreds of pounds to fix. I forwarded this information onto Riot and while I'm sure they've taken that information onboard to make sure it doesn't happen again, I can't afford to risk it. This isn't even considering the other implications of having software running at ring 0, and the security risks involved with that. Even though League is pretty toxic, its been the go-to game that my mates have played for years and we've made some good memories, so for that thanks riot.

I didn't think the reason why I'd finally stop playing League was introduction of Vanguard, and yet here we are. Having an always-on rootkit is a no-no already. And on top of that with the announced requirement for TPM 2.0, I am just not willing to go out and buy a piece of hardware for my PC to enable it.

Playing late night ARAMs with the boys was fun while it lasted, but I'm not going to be installing Vanguard just to play a game I only half enjoy.

Remove the Vanguard implementation. It is disproportional, unjustified and potentially harmful to many people's systems. In 10 years, never have I been this disappointed in Riot's decisions.

Any reasonable person will see this is a ticking time bomb. Has Riot been hacked before? Yes. Has a kernel level anti-cheat do shady stuff in the background happend before? Yes. Is riot connected to a shady entity? Yes

I uninstalled League and every Riot game because of Vanguard. I know I'm just one player, but no matter how much I love League, I'm not going to install that malware on my PC.

League was aways a game that I kept going back to no matter how much time it passes after I get tired of it... well, It was. I'll not bow my head like Valorant players accepting Vanguard running in my OS background even when I'm not playing the game, nothing justify that, no other anti-cheat is intrusive like that. Thats where I'm out for good. It was a good ride.

14 years I've been playing league, going to miss it, but I'm not installing Vanguard. It's far too intrusive, paired with the fact that you have a history of your most sensitive data being leaked, and the companies, and countries you are now essentially tied with, it's definitely a big concern, too big. I understand most people will either be blissfully unaware of what vanguard is capable of, that or simply cope that it's a fair trade to keep feeding their particular video game addiction, but it's absolutely insane the type of data vanguard can harvest, ultimately you are entitled to ZERO privacy when choosing to have League of Legends installed on your computer from now on. Thinking that is in any way acceptable is ridiculous, especially when you factor in that cheating in League Of Legends, when compared to other video games, is such a non issue. It brings even more into question, why then does all my data have to be harvestable in order to play the game? Here's hoping this change will be reverted one day, but if not it's been fun. I definitely advise anyone reading this to look more into the capability of Vanguard, it inarguably harvests more than you would think necessary to prevent cheaters in a video game, seriously question if this is something you are willing to not only accept, but also encourage as a norm moving forward.

I'll be completely honest, adding Vanguard to League sounds like something good but for a player like me it probably means I'll stop playing. Why? Let me explain. I mainly play ARAM and TFT very casually. I used to play a lot of League but nowadays I don't have the time for those long ranked games. Having said that, if you guys make me have Vanguard ON every time I boot my PC I'll probably just uninstall League. I like to have very little things running on my PC while working, as I do video editing and need every last processing power of my PC and to be honest I just like having a clean system tray. That means I would have to manually quit Vanguard every time I boot up my PC, which is not worth it in my opinion. I'll wait to see how you guys go about Vanguard but if it's the same way as with Valorant, which I'm guessing it will be, I'll be sadly saying goodbye to my casual play sessions of League.

In addition to the Phreak-style surveys of “did vanguard improve your experience,” also monitor for “bunch of regular players who just kinda left for seemingly no reason.” Those are the players you pissed off with Vanguard. I know it’s priced into your long term strategy, but a larger playerbase with a smaller fanbase is worse still…

riot's gaslighting on Vanguard is something else, acting like there are no issues people have with their anti-cheat and it's completely perfect and needed. The downvotes speak for themselves and many people are going to uninstall League because of Vanguard or run into issues cause of Vanguard.

The Vanguard patch will be the best change in the history of the game - consider it as a buff for those, who are addicted and will finally have a true reason to stop playing this game and do better stuff outside league.

I like League of Legends, I've been playing it for years, but with Vanguard they give me a reason to stop playing it, which is most likely for the best, to finish a cycle and start a new one.

I hope this comment section makes it abundantly clear that the day League tries to install Vanguard (or anything similar) on my machine is the day League gets uninstalled and is never coming back. There are already industry AI solutions to automate anti-cheat. Vanguard is a violation of privacy with no purpose.

Been playing since 2013 and with the current anti-cheat, I have not encountered any cheater or "big cheater". Any capable cheating software or hacker themselves already know how to bypass any anti-cheat, including Vanguard. The only ones that get hit are "obvious cheaters", which can be easily detected. In another words, anti-cheats hide actual severe offenders better and make the normal players (majority) suffer for it. Addtionally, it is clear with the original deadline that has been cancled and moved and the extra hesitance after the moved release date, where you will still only test it on only one region, that this new software is not compatible with this game or client. You are struggling too hard. All of that just does not leave me with confidence.

Vanguard should only turn on just before you're launching a game, doesn't need to be on before, Doesn't need to be on after. Certainly doesn't need to be on 24/7.

Allow vanguard to not need virtualization off and secure boot on, along with disrupting a lot of tools people use such as utility tools. Not to mention you shouldn't have the need to have it on at all times on your pc.

I love that they said they wanted to shift damage from items to champions then gave every mage the ability to only use items for damage and not rely on their own mechanics whatsoever

It's important to understand that with this coming to LoL, one of the biggest games in the world, the interest for breaching and exploiting it is likely to grow. Also, no matter how much we enjoy League it is important to keep in mind that this is just a computer game. Is this level of intrusion really warranted for something like that? Riot games may not have other intentions, but someone else might in the future. I think steps like these lead to a dangerous philosophy where companies can arbitrairly decide on intrusive actions. Yes, I know a lot of data is being stored already but that does not mean that we should not be careful about how far we allow that to go. This is for sure a step in the wrong direction and laws should be made for this kind of stuff. Children are allowed to install LoL on their home computers, leaving the adults in the house completely unaware that there is a rootkit running in the background that in theory could be used to turn on your microphone, camera, read your keystrokes etc... While many games do use kernel level AC, at lest they run only when the game is on. And there have been incidents with these, such as the one with Genshin Impact. We need to draw a line for where the importance of fair play in video games comes in conflict with more important rights. Use it in tournaments and stuff, sure. But for everyone at all times? No thanks.

How about just make Vanguard a requirement for ranked? I literally have only played ARAMs for about 5 years now and have never seen a cheater (only a handful of bots, ever). I shouldn't be required to have a kernal level anti-cheat just to play an ARAM.

Not only is Vanguard actively killing its Linux playerbase, its also killing off anyone who simply DUAL BOOTS on their system, even if they have League on Windows. Dual booting requires that Secure boot is disabled in the bios so it doesnt block non-windows OSs from running, and Vanguard requires Secure boot to be enabled to run. Learned this the hard way with Valorant. On top of the massive security and privacy concerns, I'll most definitely be uninstalling and never looking back once Vanguard is released. And i hope that enough people also do so to the point that riot has to respond.

You can talk about the positives all you want, but I'm never going to install a rootkit from a company that is owned by a big Chinese corporation on my pc. What do I tell my customers that expect their data to be secure? Don't tell me to buy another PC just to play League lol. I said it in the first video and I am saying it again. I love league, I really really do. I, so far, really like this season and don't want to stop playing. However, I simply will not play if Vanguard is implemented; That's it. I don't hold any of this against people like Brightmoon or whoever, but I just don't trust it on a fundamental basis. No matter the purpose of Vanguard, i am not going to give anyone or thing such power over my computer as long as I can stop it. I do not want to stop playing league, but no matter how much I want to play it, it isn't on the table as an option if Vanguard is implemented. edit: It was the second reason why i don't play Val (first reason being that I'm not the greatest at shooters).

I play actively since Season 1. Vanguard scares me :( I dont even understand what it does, but I understand that it can see basically everything on my PC and that Riot is owned by tencent... I play in Master and I would rather play vs cheaters than have Vanguard on my PC. Maybe I buy a cheap pc to play LoL on...

Multiple thousands of hours of my life down the drain in an instant with the addition of Vanguard, and to be honest it's kind of a blessing. This game has consistently betrayed the OG community at large and is far less fun than it was a decade ago, the game that temporarily put MOBAs on the pedestal only to ultimately sell out to tencent and effectively become an advertising platform. inb4 dummies calling me "cheater" or "bu.....but other game anticheat" you know you're just being intellectually dishonest

Are you comfortable with Riot's Vanguard service? Especially knowing that they were just recently hacked at a live tournament. (Anyone that hacks Riot will have access to all of the information on your PC, because of Vanguard's Kernel level access).

May riot forge rest is peace there are so many cool genres i would have loved to see the runeterra characters in like imagine a bulders gate with league characters or a metal gear soild like game almost unlimited options.

Vanguard literally prevents some of us honest players from running games just because our systems don't allow its level of invasiveness. Please do not punish us because of dishonest players.

Kernel level anticheat aside, requiring TPM 2.0 is a middle finger to anyone with a PC older than a few years. This game became successful in the first place because it could be played on older PCs and now it's being gated to newer ones. But hey, you guys already got all your money and success, so who cares about the little people, right?

what if you made vanguard only mandatory for ranked queue (and perhaps only above a certain rank?) most if not all cheaters are in ranked and the real problematic ones are in masters/challengers in my 8 years of playing league i have encountered 4 cheaters, and all of them could be caught super easily (reksai tunnel script/kayn global W)

"Our version of Vanguard" so does it mean that there's another Vanguard that needs to be installed? So VALORANT's vanguard is technically a separate entity? I was expecting that the current Vanguard available (which is in VALORANT) would be the one used for League as well.
