I believe he has the potential to become one the greatest of all times. And if he works along with Lewis, and especially tries to learn, and emulate how Lewis works, and amalgamates with the team, he can even surpass Lewis. Mercedes is the most complete team on the grid, and their salvage of 2022 season is a standing testament to that, one of the cardinal distinction has been that their drivers amplify, and embody the idea of racing for the team. I hope George adjusts well in the team, and achieves great things.
@threadtapwhisperer5136
@threadtapwhisperer5136 Рік тому
I wholeheartedly agree. Mercedes AMG is the full premium package plus all DLC. Every single person is integral to the whole F1 program working or failing. Every unfortunate strategy choice that didnt work is evaluated and genuine adaptations to overcome said unfortunateness makes the whole team stronger every time.. Mercedes seems to be the only team presently that listens to any team members idea or criticisms. They seem to hungrily seek that new frontier to maintain their dominance. Craziest part is it ALWAYS looks and sounds genuinely bonafide whenever Lewis tours the factory or a cameraman catches footage of crew interactions. It would be easy to just act as if the team culture is so well woven, it just doesn't ever seem fake is what i think is closest correct term. Mercedes does their Monday morning pitwall videos and openly analyzes sometimes REALLY brutal criticism from armchairs team principals. That very excercise quiets naysayers, explains failures along with the reasons why the failed choice was initially taken and ultimately shows specifically what weaknesses they need work on. Oftentimes that pitwall vid is saying "so the strategy was suboptimal, but the drivers are big D bossmen and they made it work. Here's why we almost didn't win." It's amazing to see, even though Im kinda taking it on faith that the Mercedes F1 te culture is so proactively forward thinking. No blame games, which allows all individuals a safe space to criticize themselves. Yet when that happens, especially on race day we all see the feed of the entire Merc garage supporting a mechanic after wheelgun failure or something. It's a incredibly difficult work culture to achieve, has to be molded slowly and methodically but damn if Mercedes aint got to the final polishing point by now. That entire hive mind style management and work environment leaves space that is neutral to present problems and then gather a variety of really smart peoples ideas together and try the eventual best combined idea. That's why i think Mercedes aint gonna be just done with winning cuz this year was probably a very difficult slog for them all. I think Mercedes will hit on some fiercely gorgeous engineering and drop the veiny, meaty, championship winner snausage right at old Chrissy-boy Horner's door this 2023 season. Even if Merc dont win, some more hard but fair and legal wheel to wheel racing will satisfy me regardless. I feel the battles have been rather intense here last 3 seasons.
@King__Gammer
@King__Gammer Рік тому
@@threadtapwhisperer5136 You have very aptly described, why Mercedes has dominated the F1 during the hybrid, and will most likely continue to do so. It seems like Mercedes is the only team on the grid, that truly encapsulates the idea of F1 being a team sport. Toto Wolff didn’t make any promises with George Russel, until Valtteri Bottas was able to find a spot for 2022. And there are plethora of other examples that highlight the work-culture of Mercedes, and how it factors in their performance. Toto is running it like a well oiled machine, and I don’t think so anyone could have done a better job.

I’ve been following the HAAS saga this racing season. I’m a fan of Mick Schumacher. What I’m hearing in this segment is a driver going through the development process. It seems to me that a young driver has to push the boundaries to know where they are. As George explains here he wasn’t under intense pressure to get points and he could simply measure his progress against himself. We see now how that experience has paid dividends now that he is in a more competitive machine. What HAAS did to Mick was not only unfair to a young driver but self defeating as a racing team. HAAS is a poor team on the track, in the paddock, and at managing personnel. George is a quality individual and deserves the success he is achieving. I hope that Mick gets back behind the wheel and shows how big a mistake HAAS made sacking him.

This kid is unbelievable! Remember how big a deal people made of Hamilton's achievement of leveling points with a two time champion in equal machinery back in '07? Hamilton has been the clear Driver no.1 at Merc for atleast 7 years. Statistically the greatest of all time! For a new kid to just walk in and beat a 7 time world champion and that too Hamilton in Mercedes by 35 points in his first year is absolutely incredible!
@enthusiastlot9365

I love George but lets remember that the whole point differences was because Lewis was the one with the experimental car and all the tests were being done with his car and not George’s
@WildfireX
@WildfireX Рік тому
You're an idiot if you rationalise it in that way. You ignore all context & just look at the end result & summarise that he must be better than a 7x world champion. You don't mention the fact that he had something like almost a 50 point lead after 6 races because Hamilton was the guy running experimental setups to try & resolve the issues with the car. You don't talk about how Russell was behind Hamilton ,& would've finished behind Hamilton in 4 of the first 6 races.. But incredibly lucky safety car timing not only saved his race, but actually GIFTED him position over Hamilton either outright on track, or by being able to get brand new tyres for a free pitstop & have the gap closed, so that he was right behind Hamilton who's on old tyres. That happened 5 times in the season, 4 times in the first 6 or 7 races. He was outperformed by Hamilton after race 7 of the season, & outperformed pretty thoroughly tbh. He was outqualified badly & on average around 2 tenths slower than Hamilton on outright pace. Why don't you try watching the races for once in your life & factoring context into things. There's nothing more annoying in F1 than people that conveniently ignore context so they can portray the narrative they want to portray.
@Reachrahulrambo
@Reachrahulrambo Рік тому
@@enthusiastlot9365 Agreed.LH was running test set ups. But If a year ago someone told me a kid during his first year at Merc would even come close to beating Hamilton, it would have been considered mighty impressive. George just did the unthinkable! Beat Hamilton and that too by 35 points. To finish in the top 5 in all but 2 races is remarkable consistency. It's that consistency that didn't allow LH to blitz past Russell in the second half of the season, even when LH was arguably quicker
@Reachrahulrambo
@Reachrahulrambo Рік тому
@@WildfireX Never did I say LH was slower. I am saying the result is remarkable. Of course George was lucky and LH was running test setups! Of course George was slower than Hamilton during the second half of the season! That doesn't take away from the fact that Russell's performance was incredible! Valteri or most drivers on the grid would still have not beat LH if they had got the same opportunity that George got at Merc this year. It's obvious that LH is head and shoulders above Russell as a driver, but in this particular season Russell matched Hamilton and with luck he beat LH. Anyone who can even briefly compete with Hamilton needs to be appreciated, that's how good LH had been! A 7 time world champion in the form of LH in 2022 is far superior a driver to a 2 time champ in the form of Alonso in 2007, who had 6 years experience in F1 then. Hence Russell beating a veteran Hamilton who has 15 years experience in F1 is a equally remarkable achievement. You can argue the case that beating a 2007 Alonso was harder than beating a 2022 Hamilton, but that means you admit to the fact that Alonso in 2007 was a superior driver to the veteran LH of 2022. You can bring up context again, but then we have to talk about the context of Hamilton's 07 season with Alonso as well. Context matters! But not as much as the final Result! ( At least in sports ) Any further addition of context wouldn't diminish the achievement of both LH in '07 and Russell in '22!
@ksfreestylers1146
@ksfreestylers1146 Рік тому
Hamiltons 2007 much more impressive. No debate. In 2007 they had a championship winning car. This year they had the 3rd best car and whether one is in front of the other one doesnt really matter. That's what happens when the "goat" isn't in the best car. Russell has been used to fighting in sub par machinery, he was always going to beat Hamilton when the car isn't the fastest on track. Hamilton has never been in a 3rd place car.

Contact with Carlos in Zandvoort 6. Contact with KMag again in Monza 7. Contact with Carlos again in Singapore 8. Dangerous driving in Mexico and Miami while racing his team mate 9. Reckless crash with Max in Brazil that ruins Lewis’ chance to podium / win Wow isn’t that crazy that Max’s only crash all 2022 is with Lewis?
